I lost my partner of 17 years to lung cancer. Maxx who spent all day with him was not taking it to well. I decided to get him a companion. I went to a bird fair a few weeks ago, and saw the cutest and sweetest little Yellow Sided Green Cheek Conure. Just 2 month old, and looking for a forever home as the breeder was getting out of the business.
Not sure if it was a boy or girl, but I didn't care. My main concern was that the two get along.
I put the cage next to Maxx's and and both showed interest. I decided to see how they would be together on the table. They instantly hit it off. Maxx took to his little buddy and instantly started preening.
They have been together and happy ever since. I sent in a blood sample and the results came back female. So her name is Emma.
Here is a pic of the two. Maxx on the left, Emma on the right.
And the cage they share. The small white cage was the one she came with. They both use it as a playpen.
