How you can help Talk Parrots grow

Hey guys!

Many of you have registered in such a short amount of time (which is WONDERFUL if I must say!) and you have all expressed your desire to make Talk Parrots another fun, informative and all-around great forum community.

So how can you help us get "off the ground"? Easy!
  • Help promote Talk Parrots to other bird/parrot enthusiasts (Details: Help Promote Talk Parrots - share with your friends!)
  • Incite discussion by creating new parrot-related discussion threads. Ask about different species, share information about species you are familiar with, ask questions (as if you didn't already know everything there is to know about parrots, right!? ). You can also share articles and lengthy write-ups on general/common parrot topics.
  • Reply to as many threads in which you are able to participate. In the beginning, every new post, thread, and member makes a huge difference on our activity and ultimate success!
  • Most of all, have fun!

There is definitely some competition in the parrot-forum industry, so we have to try our hardest to make Talk Parrots the success that we all want it to be, but we can't do it without your help.

Thanks again for all that you do, everybody.

Best Regards from
Nick and the flock:

In addition to what Nick said, be sure to let us know what you think! If you have any ideas, comments, suggestions, etc., let us know. It's you, the members, that will decide if we're a success or not. By letting us know what you all think, we can make this site into the best it can be. (If not, you'll have to let us come up with all the ideas on our own! )

I'm rather new, so I can't wait to contribute as much as I can. I hope to spread the word around about Talk Parrots. I really like the feel of this forum. That's also why I chose to register on this forum rather than some other more popular ones I found.

I really like this site because the contributers are nice to one another and I feel comfortable talking about any type of bird here.

I am happy to see the renewed activity of late.

Thanks Shivani for the awesome siggy!

Just out of curiosity, will there be anymore "talk" bird websites?? I think one for finches would be good, just because I don't often see many finch owners around these sites and maybe that would help attract some. Besides, I'm getting finches soon.

That would be cool Abby, they could have more I guess. Seeing as people do tend to talk about anything and everything hehe. But yeah, seeing as finches are really popular that would be a great idea!

Thanks. I feel like with the TalkParrots, a lot of birds are covered, but I feel as if finches are a bit different than other birds, so a separate forum might be good for it.

I agree. Are the zebra finches you're getting the first type of finch you've ever had?

what sort of nest are you using for them? We use the little baskets that just hook onto cages

I found a small basket, similar to a finch nesting basket, although that's not what it was meant for. I think it'll be easier to use than a nesting box, though. I washed it completely and covered it in some nesting material and other things to make it soft and comfortable for them. I'm actually pretty proud of it. I spent a long time on it, hahaa. I can't wait to let my little finches use it!!

Our finches demolished it XD haha, they're dreadful for that. I made a lovely nest and instead they stole the material that the quails sleep in
