A big hello from south africa I got my very adorable and lovable and cuddly quaker parrot over 10 years ago. He found me when I walked into a pet shop one day .as I walked in he flew on to my shoulder and refused to get off so I bought a cage and all I needed to make his home he was 9 weeks old now is 10 years and 4 months and 9 weeks... I love him to bits and he loves me to bits but he is not keen on anyone but me ... His spoilt he is never locked in his cage his room is bird safe life is good for my green monster . I'm hoping to find other QP owners who live in sa they very very rare here unfortunately I haven't seen any at the pet shops since I got my baby
I have plenty pics I did upload one after I posted just took forever to figure it out via my blackberry. I've seen a few in the one bird park in cape town and my avain vet said his seen another one but that's it .
welcome to the forum , im from cape town south africa and have only seen a quaker once in a pet shop , you can however sometimes find them on gumtree and at some breeders but for quite a high price
they very hard to get I saw quite at bit at the world of birds a few years back and when I went to ct this year there was one left think they had to downsize not sure,I read your one post they had them for 1500 which isn't to bad they lovely birds I got spig for 500 10 years ago which was a lot then too. Ps do you feed your birds animal zone pellets spig loves them
I use avi plus for years then I started seeing dust and worms insides so I stopped using it... Animal zone is make by a avian vet in ct so I opted for that
i once had that problem so i called them up and they sent me 2 new bags , i have never had a problem again
