African Grey's Breeding age?

Does anybody happen to know at what age you should stop breeding your African Grey's? I know you start breeding around 5 years old, but I can't find anywhere that says when to stop

I'm not sure but I can imagine they can breed for some time though surely? I think a bird can breed from sexual maturity up until quite an old age of they're not bred. I think a female Harris hawk at the centre they have bred every year is in her late twenties now! She's still going good and they have flown four generations from them

Wow, 4 generations, thats amazing.

Turns out the breeder pair of greys I wanted are 15 years olds. Thats alot older than I was hoping for, I was hoping 7 to 9 years old, especially since they want $1400. So now I'm not sure what I'm going to do.

I found this.:

Some of these domestically bred pairs will start breeding at three years of age, but most often they are four years of age or older. Once your pair has matured sufficiently their productive life will be long. The life expectancy for an African Grey is sixty to ninety years and they continue producing for their lifetime.

Your welcome. That's what I was thinking. I've never priced breeding greys but that seems like a fair price. You'll get that back and more with just 2 babies.

True, I do think think though that they should be a bit less, cause I've been pricing them and usually its around $1000 to $1200. But I'm going to think it about and as soon as the money I'm waiting for comes in I'll talk to them and see if they'll take $1200 for them, cause nobody wants to buy them cause of there age, worst the can say is no and then I'll have to decide if I still want them or not. I'm just kinda worried about buying them at that age, given I know nothing about how the've been taken care of, for one thing I can't lose that much money and for another I don't want to get attached and them die on me. They are also totally wild, I guess we'll see what happens . But I think it would be so much fun to raise CAG's from babies.

I went to meet the breeder I'm getting my baby from and she has 4 Congo babies right now. I had never seen 7/8 week old babies before and man were they big. I think raising them would be awesome.

The 4 babies my breeder has now are her first grey babies ever and she is LOVING it. One hatched on her birthday and needed help getting out of the shell. She's keeping that one.
