Keep Daisy in Your Thoughts

Guys, I feel we are more of a family then any other forum I've been on. Everyone is so kind and helpful here. Unfortunately, one of our members, Daisy, or catalinadee, is going through some extremely rough times. I will let her share details when she is comfortable, but I was hoping that everyone could come together and show we care by posting on this thread. Please, keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you.

Daisy, you've always been caring and helpful to the members of our community.
You really deserve all the best life can give to a young lady like you.
But sometimes life is hard.
And if you go through a crisis, whatever it may be, you will be stronger afterwards.
I wish you good luck and strength hoping things will grow better soon.

Thank you all so much for the support. If you really want to know, I've lost two birds. Firstly, Darwin. He wasted away over what was the period of about 24 hours. No warning or anything. He recently had a full blood work up and was tested for the nasties such as psittacosis and PBFD. Dexter was the second bird to go. Perry, her cage mate, sibling and bonded buddy, had bitten her upper mandible off. I heard a LOT of screaming and rushed in to find her bleeding with half a face. It was absolutely horrific and I was physically sick. My mental health has been all over the place recently and it hasn't helped what so ever. I'm having a bad relapse and I've stopped looking after myself. I've come to the decision to move the birds out into the aviaries I currently have up and I'm considering asking the rescue to take back the lories/lorikeets as I fear they were responsible for Darwin's death. I'm petrified they will be the next to go down. Sampson, the Alexandrine, will be going to live in Dexter and Perry's breeders aviary with a female. Perry will be in an aviary. The only birds I will have left in my home will be Kona, Clyde, Harvey and Malibu. I can't take it any more. The upset is too much

Oh Daisy... I can't even imagine, I felt sick just reading it. I know how much you love your birds and how heart wrenching it must be to not only lose them , but in such helpless and horrific ways. I hope all your other birds continue to do well and your mental and physical health stabilizes. You need to take care of yourself to be able to look after the rest of your feathered and furry family. We are all thinking of you and praying for you.

Thank you all. I hope you all understand. I can't keep so many companion birds any more. My aviary birds are no issue what so ever. But these guys are taking their toll. I'm so upset, sick and furious that this keeps happening to me. It's like one bird gets ill and they ALL go down. It's taken it's toll I'm so glad I have you guys

Oh my goodness Daisy, I'm so sorry. I can't imagine how that feels but I hope your life starts going a bit better in the feathered family department. Ugh, it makes me cringe just thinking about this on top of all of the other losses you have had.
Take a moment for yourself, you need it. Destress and then you'll be in a better place to take care of others.
Stay strong missy.

Oh Daisy, I'm so sorry to hear it... I think we've all had our burn outs, or will at some point in our parrot ownership. When I lost Mizu the way I did, the only reason I got another linnie was because Loki was so heart broken and lonely. I pretty much swore off linnies... I will probably never get another, once these two go, simply because I feel I will always hold them to the standard of Mizu.

Give your heart time to mend, take some time off, and when the time is right you'll find your way back to birds when some little feathered munchkin worms his way back into your heart, no matter how you try to say no. That's what happened with Goober I hated her at the pet shop, and she hated me until her favorite employee quit and she deemed me the replacement lol

In the mean time, take a break, make some distance, and take care of you first, my dear! Treat yourself to a little something nice, take a long weekend and just relax and let your heart recover  We're all here for you!
