Parrot Rescue Centre needs new fosters

just saw this post on facebook and thought i'd share it here.

Parrot Rescue Centre
Unfortunately one of the carers is not able to foster now, so we have the following birds still needing foster care.

We are looking for urgent foster carers in Victoria to help with the below Birds.

The Foster carer must be located in Victoria and can provide temporary care of up to 3 to 6 months.

You will be required to go through our foster carer assessment process, if you have not already applied to adopt or foster birds from us before.

Indy - Alexandrine - Male (8 years?) - Friendly bird but doesn't like hands. He likes lots of kisses and will step up onto a stick. I fly him in the morning but he doesn't normally choose to fly so he is left to wander about on top of the cages/play gyms all day with Chilli the Quaker. He is good around other birds and will only threaten them if they threaten him first. He shows a lot of interest in the others and I think he would really love a mate (which didn't work out with Beaker). Loves lots of fruit and veggies. Will eat some pellets (Vetafarm South American & Paradise preferred).

Dee - Green-Cheeked Conure - Female (3 years) - Can be very loving and likes kisses and cuddles in your hand one minute, but can become aggressive and nippy the next. Will step up. Needs supervision around the other birds as she will pick fights, but can sometimes be really good around them too. Sometimes she will spend hours next to Chilli or Indy just preening. She is a good flier and likes to go exploring so will always need supervision when out of the cage. Also likes to go on the floor and bite toes. Eats her fruit and veggies and will eat some pellets (all Vetafarm that I have tried) but prefers seeds.
All birds have been Health Checked by an Avian Vet.

They will come with their cages and toys.

If you can help foster one or more of these birds please contact us on [email protected]

Otherwise please share this post, to help spread the word.

Thank you!
i wish i could take the conure but i'm maxed out! maybe another Aussie can help
