Talking Goober Tattoo!

Here's a quick photo of the tattoo I got last night it's on my ribcage, just below where a bra would sit and the feathers curl around the front. I absolutely love it phase 2 will be colors to match Goober. I'll post a better picture as I have it, this was taken with my phone lol The proportions are a little warped from how I was holding my arm and the angle, the face looks much smoother and more proportionate in life

Thanks guys I'm so pleased with it. Jimmy, my artist, is THE BEST. It was only $75 for the tattoo, took an hour. He's done 4 pieces for me and I love every one of them. The best is he comes to my friends house, or my house, to do it so it's right at home. He's super clean, super safe, I trust him completely. This time I got to lie on the tattoo chair and watch America's Got Talent lmao. He is based in South Carolina, but he comes down here once every few months and books a bunch of appointments.

These are the other pieces he's done for me - one is an Ankh with the Egyptian Pharaoh Akhenaten, he is credited with creating the first monotheistic religion in history and is most known for being King Tut's father; one is the Roman Aquila, the symbol of the Roman Legionaries, with a laurel wreath for victory and holding thunder bolt for the god Jupiter; the third is a Japanese woodcut of a sparrow on a cherry blossom branch that I fell in love with lol

I also added, just for completeness, pics of my other tattoos, done by other artists. The one on my left shoulder is a silhouette of a Geisha done in black and red, the one on the right is a little hard to see, but it's a woman in Roman style robes holding 2 macaws. The one on my ankle I got in memorial of Mizu, my linnie who passed away in a tragic accident. The only one missing is my Greek Lady, on my right leg in the same area as the Ankh, but she's an artistic nude so I won't post her here lol. It's shaded and styled to look like a marble statue of a nymph holding an urn of water over her shoulder and pouring it

I'm up to... 8 tattoos now? And I still have plans for at least 3 big projects

Love them all! You're so lucky. I want a tattoo eventually. Not sure what, though. I'd like to have the dark mark (from Harry Potter) on my arm, and maybe his scar behind my ear (since I definitely wouldn't be getting it on my forehead, LOL). But I'm not sure.

Just watch your placement. All of mine are able to be covered by pants and a polo shirt. People are getting better and better about accepting tattoos but a lot of places still make you cover them up. That's the only reason I don't have full sleeves is because I hate long sleeved shirts Those tattoo ideas sound really cool, Abby. Just think about them - remember, they're permanent, so you better like Harry Potter when you're 90! (I know, Mom lecture Gotta do it! Seen too many people rush into tattoos and regret them). My rule of thumb is, unless it really speaks to you on an emotional level, sit on the idea for 6 months to a year... if you still really want it then, then you most likely won't hate it later.

Your tattoos look great, and $75 is an excellent price. A friend of mine just got an owl done on her arm and she paid $300. Not even colored.

Lindsey - age shouldn't stop ya! My mom just got her first tattoo at 46 and many of my friends parents and grandparents have and still get tattoos. My good friend's grandmother is still getting tattoos at 85! Tattoos are for no one but you. Yes, other people see them and its fun to show off, but they have meaning to you, they look good for you. You have to live with them. Most people don't get my tattoos and why I got them, but they all mean something special to me and represent part of who I am. Get them because you want them and love them

Wow Jenny it looks great and I can't WAIT to see how it looks when it is finished. I sadly can't get any more now because I can't find a GOOD tattooist that will do anybody at my age, I know I know, I'm naughty for having one anyways I have tons of ideas so far and I really can't wait, it's only next year now when I can start again. I wish I'd of waited though until I was 18 to get this one, they told me I'd want another as soon as it was done and I did... really really badly... I had it done in November so that's now 9 months and 12 days I MUST get another though as soon as I turn 18. You're are amazing anyways I think a chick with tattoos is the most awesome thing ever haha!

haha! My guy is really skinny so he's paranoid that his tattoo wont look right, then there's me that looks at him and I'm like hahaha. He wants Avenged Sevenfolds death bat tattooed somewhere (I suggested the top of his back). He doesn't want it too big though, and I think he wants Seize The Day wrote on it too, which shocked me because that's my next tattoo haha. I want it wrote down the side of my foot

Skinny guys and tattoos were made for each other - look at rock stars! Funny story about Avenged Sevenfold, back when Waking the Fallen first came out me and my sister went and saw them at the Kelsey Club here in WPB. There were about... 20-30 people in the club? Really tiny, it's where all the local bands went to play. Their opener was My Chemical Romance. It was cute, the guys from Avenged had cheap corpse paint on and were rockin it out on this tiny stage. Awesome show. It was cool to see both bands in such an intimate setting before they got so big. We were right in front too, so we got up close and personal Man, seeing Chapter Four live... Such an amazing song. I've seen them... 3 times now? 4? They still put on a very good show, tho nothing beats the first one

Just be careful with band logos and names; my personal rule is no bands, no names, just images that speak to me. The only names I will ever tattoo on me, and I plan on doing so, is my kids because they may stop loving you but you will never stop loving your children Bands come and go, I was really big into Avenged but their latest albums just haven't been my cup of tea, I don't like the vocals and I find the lyrics to have gotten a little... cheesy? They're too into the "bro" rock scene for me lol. Same thing with AFI. I ADORED them, was in their fan club, etc etc but their last album or two are... meh. And Davey is no longer a stunningly handsome replica of Glen Danzig, he's got short hair and a beard NO THANKS! Go back to devil locks and a little bit of eyeliner, please! oh and a fishnet shirt... that was nice too...

I do think Seize the Day is a cool one to put, tho, because it has so many different meanings. Have you thought about putting it in Latin, just for something different? (hehe, can you tell I'm a history major focused on Rome?) It could look cool in Romanized script, Carpe Diem The death bat is a pretty cool image tho He should put it on his chest or shoulders, big and spread out if he wants it small and a little more easy to conceal, there's always his deltoid (upper arm). Most guys I know put their first tattoo there because it doesn't hurt too bad, it's not too big, and it's easy to hide
