Helping the Inexperienced...

I always used to get on Yahoo Answers and answer questions for clueless bird owners, but it started to get annoying. I recently got a new email address and I have decided to start answering bird questions again. Yeah, a lot of them are practically clueless it seems, and they have a lot to learn, even with small birds like budgies (in which a majority of them have), but I thought if I can make a difference, just a little one, in an owner and therefore a bird's life, I'll do it. So I've been answering questions in full detail left and right, and then suggesting they get on one of the Talk forums to learn more. Hopefully, I'm making a difference. A lot of my answers have been made best answers, probably because I blabbed so much, but you do think it is worth if I can help a few people, right?

Lol, thanks. I've always wanted to be able to spread correct bird knowleadge around. I think this is one way to do it. I suggest others to do the same! We need less neglected, less unhealthy, less abandoned birds.

Exactly. I hope I don't get in trouble for advertising or anything, because I keep posting links to the Talk forms and telling them they should join. I know for a fact that an active member on any of the Talk sites will learn a billion times more stuff than they would have not being apart of the fun. I've learned so much since I first joined TalkBudgies in May of 2010. I am so happy I joined, and have enjoyed every second I spend on these sites. So spread the word!

Oops! I didn't mean to insult anybody, not at all!
So many people are just misinformed or not informed enough, and it really isn't always anybody fault. Yahoo Answers is great, most of the time, and you can find a lot of people on there. But I've seen so many people with good intentions, but giving wrong answers, and then some questions that are asked make me worried about the bird, because people should have known those obvious questions BEFORE they bought their bird; research should have been done. So if they are asking stuff like THAT, what all do they really know?
On a forum like this one, most members are experienced and well informed, and when a question is asked, several people can answer it to give you a good idea of the answer, and then if one person happens to be wrong, others are there to fix the mistake, and a discussion can form that you can learn from.
I'm glad you joined, though.
