I hate bad adverts

Everybody was talking about those ads the other week which were begging for parrots? I HATE those. But even worse is seeing a bird who is NOT being cared for. If only I could take them all

You all remember my red-bellied macaw right? And I mean that was a BAD cage but not as bad as this ...
http://www.preloved.co.uk/adverts/sh...-for-sale.html

I just want to throttle the owner. Look at how low and awful the perches are, look how small the cage is and LOOK at the food bowl. I can't even see a water bowl. Urgh!

Daisy, that 'too doesn't live like that.
It's not plucked or even stressed.

There's no toys in that cage either.

I dont think that bird is in a cage much at all.
It's in good condition.
A bored 'too is capable of doing much damage to itself and surroundings.

I think the 'too is for sale and not the cage?

No no he comes with the cage.

Some birds never mutilate believe it or not. There are some who go crazy and do it all the time and others who just don't. The cage is VERY rusty too, I don't know if you can see it that well. I've seen much worse. But like I said, I've seen birds in horrible conditions that have come out feather perfect. That red bellied macaw wasn't at all plucked and hadn't been let out of its cage for over 2 years

I also don't think the bird is in that cage very often, the perches are in one piece and not shredded. I use extremely hard wood perches and they still manage to chew them. The ones in the cage are only a softwood dowel type perch, they would last around 10 minutes if that. I think that he may have just been put in the cage for the picture. And also the seed on the floor is pretty normal for a Cockatoo. Their beak is a shovel. You put food in the bowl and the shovel goes to work throwing it out all over the place. Happens everytime I feed my guys, seed flys everywhere.

I will admit that the cage is a bit rusty down near the bottom, but that would be easily fixed with a spray coat of paint. The bird is in extremely good condition. Wish I was in the UK, if I had the money I would take him in an instant.

Hmmm maybe he isn't then. I'd rather him have a larger cage though, and at least toys, and no rust

I wish I could take him, I really do

Can't you? Save up your money from xmas? Not -gulp- get a galah? not -gulp- get a bird for a year? Or maybe you and Jack can put your money together..... or you can find a person that can take good care of him? Or maybe give them a hint that there are shelters in the UK?

Missing you always

The shelters here cant handle any more birds

The galah is my nans not mine haha!

Jacks family live off benefits so he can't afford much at all. I reaaaally would take him if I could. We're having the house done up over the year so the bird wouldn't do so well here. I know no other people willing to get a bird and nobody else I would trust I just couldn't give it what it needs right now and nowhere to put him

I cant take him. A too wouldnt fit in the household right now.

I've passed on the info to man who wants a too.
Its his dream bird.
He has the money and time.
Lets hope he takes it.
He's very experienced and is building up his aviary but is desperate for a too for indoors.
He grew up with one.
Fingers crossed!

That cag isn't right, but the bird suprisingly hasn't totally destroyed it or plucked... A very interesting ad.

Looking at ad it says there is a cage.
If he's an active too it might be hard to get a good pic of him out.
I just sold a cage t like that. Looked rusty but stuff cleaned off.
Was all muck from parrots feet and stuff.
Still not good but not bad as rust.
Also toos create dust. Theyre just not enough on there.
Friend trying to contact them but he thinks ads s fake and too is stolen.
He went to police.
They gonna look into it.

I love preloved. It doesn't mean it in a nasty way. I sell all my stuffing it and I would have almost none of my birds if I hadn't of used preloved. My babies are all sold on there too.

Kate, thank you. It was very suspicious. + a too like that in the uk wouldn't go that cheap.
