So I've never actually been on holiday with anybody but my nan, aunt, uncle and cousins. It's really weird knowing I'm going alone. I visit Orlando every year, except last year and this year and I've been to Algarve and Tenerife. Me and Jack really wanted to go on a holiday together and my nan was lovely enough to pay for us to go together for my 18th birthday. I'm absolutely TREMBLING with excitement. We're actually going back to the same hotel that I stayed in before in Tenerife. It's really nice and quiet there, and hot! We're flying out at 10am on November 18th and we're going for a week. I'm really hyped up I've never been on holiday alone though, but I know what to do. I'm just really scared haha! Any tips from you guys from the first time you went on holiday alone?! They have a really awesome park there called Loro Parque (parrot park) with LOADS of different birds and animals, including bottlenosed dolphins and orca! The last time I went it was awesome I will be sure to take as many pictures as possible of the parrots To be honest, I got it really cheap too. Everywhere else was asking for roughly £1700 for the two of us for the all inclusive holiday but I got it for £851.88! Yay!
Stick to main routes. No short cuts. Hubby and I got mugged in a back alley, in Tenerife.
It was really scary.
They didnt get Much as hubby hid money in his sock. He also gave the bloke a good right hook when he tried to grab me.
I was so drunk! I've got a black belt in kick boxing but it doesnt help after a pint of vodka!
Also dont drink too much outside the hotel. But most of all, enjoy yourself.
I'm jealous, we pretended we were on the set of star trek up in the volcano, be warned its cold up there, and like an alien landscape!
And Loro parque! I loved the penguins! Ice, real ice! And so many parrots!
And the raptor place!
If you're going out of the country, keep a photo copy of your passport on your person, keep the original at your hotel. That way you have identification if you need it and if you lose one, you have the other. Don't carry large amounts of cash - if you get mugged or lose your wallet, you can cancel any credit cards but you can't replace the cash. Carry some cash at all times, though, because some places only take it. I would say no more than $50. That would cover an emergency if somewhere doesn't take a card, and stay within that budget. Most of all - stay together. Two people together are less likely to get bothered than a person alone. You're both young, so just be careful, you make good "targets" so stay sober, stay alert, and stay with other tourists I'm sure you'll be fine!
Of course I will! We're getting the tickets to the things we're doing. We're going to a place called Aqualand, they have dolphins so I'm most likely going to be judging them on the quality of the enclosures, Loro Parque, Jungle park, a glass bottom 2 hour cruise to see pilot whales and we're going on an underwater safari! Those are must have pictures for sure!
