So I'm not sure how many of you know this but I used to be homeschooled (technically it's an online school, Connections Academy.) To be honest I've struggled ALOT through high school. We are now considering putting me back into homeschool, and I am OH SO excited! I loved my homeschool, I felt I learned a lot more and I did get better grades. It can be lonely, and you really do need to have self motivation to start your work everyday, but I did really like it.
We are still discussing it and I will probably know by Monday what I am doing, as the new semester for my online school starts Thursday. I still have to take exams at my current high school this week (fun, right?).
i dont know about the USA or the UK but here in S.A if you dont have solid friends it can be misrable and its even worse for the nerds . thank goodness i have the best friends ever and that im not a nerd or i wouldnt go to school
Im not pretty or popular but everyone nice to me and I dont get picked on anymore (I moved schools in March 2011 and i hated it, everyone was so mean but I made lots of different friends and i guess its ok now )
I was a nerd!
But I had a rep for being bad so the bullies mostly left me alone.
Besides I was in the pub with my bro at weekends, so I was cool.
People left my family alone.
I got into some bad fights at school.
I hit one kid with my violin case.
No option to homeschool.
no matter who you are, someone's not going to like you for no reason at all. Popular, unpopular, nerd, goth, jock. The trick is not caring. Who cares what they think - as long as YOU are happy with yourself, that's all that matters. As long as you have a few good friends, then be happy Less is more when it comes to friends, the friendships are better and stronger that way.
It's all things you learn as you get older. It's an experience everyone has to go through. You'll learn some of the same at work; some people think life is a popularity contest whereas others know better. Be true to yourself, and the relationships you form will be so much better and stronger for it
Sorry, didn't mean to scare anyone . I don't think everywhere is like where I worked. But I was bullied really bad and i'm still really sick from it, the more I stood up for my self the worse it got. But there was so much illegal activity going on there, that was a large part and I didn't fit in to any click, cause I wouldn't comit illegal acts. Remind me to tell you about once I settle my legal case, you won't believe it.
So, the verdict is......Homeschool! YAY!
Although I don't really like people at my school, there are more academic reasons to why I am switching to homeschool. I'll just be plainly honest with you all, I might not graduate on time, just because I am credit deficient. Which, basically means, I have failed classes and therefore am behind in what I need to graduate.
I'm honest with you all because you're all really cool people and I trust you. I really don't like to go out and say that kind of stuff.
It happens life gets in the way, no biggie you'll get there, it's taken my best friend 10 years to finish college . I wouldn't have been able to graduate at all if I had went to public school . Kindergarden was fine, but the first two weeks of 1st grade were enough to scar me for life.
