Spring has Sprung and obviously has kicked in full mating mood for the local wildlife ... I was not happy at 3:33am ... no joke. 3:33AM my alarm clock informed me when some mouthy loud schmuck of a male cock robin decided to start singing and announcing he is fit fiddly diddly ready to mate if some poor hen robin will have him.
I think he might be drunk ... singing off key loudly with a lamp shade on his head. He was probably at a Robin stag where the other robins were all partying because Rex Robin found the hen of his dreams and is getting hitched and starting a family of little pretty blue eggs that will hatch into demanding peeping screaming huge mouths that demand food all day. Poor Rex ... he doesn't know what he's getting himself into.
IN THE MEANTIME ... I can't sleep listening to Rudy Robin who's obviously lonely and reallllllly needs to get him a little sum sum.
It never fails ... I am plagued by generations of drunk and disorderly robins who return year after year to scream near my window and keep me awake.
I HATE ROBINS ... except for those little itty bitty pretty robins they have in the United Kingdom.
Those robins are awesome!

Day 2 of the Sleepus Interruptus by Evil Mouthy Rudy Robin
I suppose Rudy Robin must be tired after all those drunken warbling birb stag party's he's attended with his bro birb friends who are getting hitched lately.
Rudy didn't get up at 3:33AM this morning to call around for a hot date. NOPE ... he actually let me sleep in another 40 mins before he started mouthing off at 4:10am and woke me up.
Poor Rudy ... he's been a birb bachelor too long now and he knows he has to do what his "birb urges" tell him to do.
He needs to a woman birb who thinks he's suave and handsome and a good provider and all that rot. Rudy doesn't know if he's handsome ... he thinks he's okay. He isn't very suave ... he's more goofy. But as a provider? Oh Rudy is a top notch worm catcher and bug snatcher and nest building BIG MOUTH LOUD SINGING FOOL!
He thinks he's a good catch and any red breasted birb girl would be happy to settle down with him and raise a little family and do birb family things together. Like .... teaching the wee birbs how to forage and dig up worms, oh yeah and teach em not to eat those fat ugly stink bugs (those bugs make your stomach all yucky.) Then he and ma birb will teach the kids how to fly, that's always fun! Dad will teach the kids to poop on people's cars everywhere as well as the important lesson's on nest building.
Then the kids have to have the talk about what the "Birbs & the Bee's" means.
And last but not least .... good ole dad birb will have to give his son's the famous "LOUD MOUTH SCHOOK Song" lesson. He will teach his boys the Robin Call and how to be loud and proud and annoying to Hoomins who just might be a little hyper sensitive to their environment and wakes up when a squirrel who lives in the tree next door farts!
That call is what its all about.
I sort of feel a little sad for lonely Rudy but then I remember he's singing off key and very loudly in my damn ear at the ungodly hour of 3 - 4am every day.
It rained all night ..... it poured down. Rudy the Robin was not out singing this morning at 3am or 4am or any part of AM. Rudy was probably sitting in his favorite tree sans leaves near the spot where he wants to build his dream nest with the birb of his dreams. He was being rained on and he was too miserable to sing.
Or he was drunk and passed out with other drunk and disorderly robins who had been attending another drunken Robin stag the night before. I'm sure Rudy will be up to his off key warbling soon enough ... maybe he's not a Singin In the Rain kind of birb?
Rudy wasn't around at 3am this morning ... not even 4am or later in the am. He was not anywhere!
It was windy ..... very windy. Winter type winds at 40 - 45 mph blowing everything everywhere. Rudy was probably hiding somewhere safe or trying desperately to hang on to the branch in his favorite tree, he didn't have time to sing he was trying to stay ALIVE!
It's possible we will have rain and SNOW tomorrow so maybe Rudy won't be singing again in the wee hours of the morning and I will get to sleep in ... once again. Oh the bliss.
Even though I don't want to see any more snow. Yuck that stuff.
Rude Rudy was up and attem at 4am singing his little birb brain out loudly! So he's still single and ready to mingle and looking for birb love in all the right/wrong places. Too bad some little birb brain beauty isn't taking him up on his offer.
I guess the light rain wasn't enough of a deterrent to keep him from belting out his rendition of "If you want my bird seed and you think I'm sexy, come on birb girl let me know!"
Rudy is the talk of the neighborhood lately... a couple of my closest neighbors aren't so happy with Rudy's early morning laments either. heh heh ... dang birb!
As I lay awake in my bed at 3am .... and still at 4am .... I did NOT hear Rudy singing his pea brain sized noggin for a lady bird. Nope ... Rudy might have been asleep. Rudy might have been passed out at another Lucky Newly Hitched Robin Buddy's stag with a lamp shade on his head and a pile of dew worm dip stuck on his red breast. Rudy is a lush ... lets face it.
Anyways .... Rudy didn't disturb me. I was disturbed anyway ... couldn't sleep and it was so quiet around here.
I'm sure when I sleep later tonight and try and catch up on my lost sleep Rudy will be wide awake in the wee hours and he's going to sing me awake!
Maybe I'll sleep in my basement ... there's a nice cold storage room down there that is pretty much sound proof.
Rudy has been MIA ... its been raining for a couple of days and last night it just poured down. I wonder if Rudy has a nice little nook somewhere dry and warm on the side of an apartment building or condo or office tower where he hangs out when it rains.
He wasn't around singing and being a noisy boy last night. I was up listening in the wee hours of the morning because that's how I live the life these days. DAMN BIRD ... he's ruined a good nights sleep for me even when he's not around to ruin a good nights sleep for me. HA
Rudy has returned ... Rudy was singing off key at 5:30am this morning. I was awake in the earlier hours and didn't hear him singing which was fine with me. 5:30am is better then waking at 3am or 4am.
It was interesting hearing Rudy sing because it was super foggy outside ... I couldn't see the driveway outside ... pea soup fog. I wonder if Rudy was wondering what the heck that white cloudy stuff was.
4:20am this morning Rudy started singing .... I wonder if Rudy is changing up his tune because he was singing "SOFTLY" ... he was singing a lot quieter then usual and it was nice to listen to. It lulled me back into sleep.
Maybe it wasn't Rudy? Maybe it was one of Rudy's less rowdy robin friends who is also looking for love in all the wrong places. Maybe Rudy found a birbgirlfriend wife to be and she and he have moved on. It would be nice to know.
What does someone buy for a new birb couple newly hitched?
Rudy must have found true love ... he's not screeching his noggin off lately. There is a NEW Cock Robin on the block and he's actually a sweet singin son of a gun. He has a lovely little light call and I heard him Singingintherain at 4:23am this morning.
It was a nice song and soft and it lulled me back to sleep so all is good.
I will call this robin ROMEO ... he will soon be whispering birb calls of love to a nice birb hen because no one will be able to miss that sweet sweet song of love and romance from this guy.
I like Romeo Robin ... I like him much more then Rudy the RUDE Robin.
Rudy the RUDE Robin has returned ... what a schmuck this birb is. He was singing loud and proud and off key at 3:30am this morning. I had to get up and have a drink and trip over the cat in the dark and then swear a few times loudly while I heard him screeching his warbly mess of a song.
Gone was Romeo's soft song of love and romance ... instead I heard blah blah blah screech screech warble warble drunken cry's of debauchery.
It rained all night ... it was too much rain for Rudy the Rude. He wasn't to be seen or heard which was fine from me ... instead I heard the light soft crooning of Romeo Robin who warbled me softly back to sleep with his lovely song.
Romeo was up at 4:30ish am this morning singing softly. I don't know why he hasn't found the birb girl of his dreams with that sultry soft crooning voice of his. He's lovely to listen to. He makes me fall back to sleep.
Rudy has been MIA ... I haven't heard him lately and that's alright with me. I don't want to be awaken by KISS ala Birb Music.
I'd much rather hear some Michael Buble - ala Birb Music ... ANYTIME!
I think Rudy the Rude has gotten HITCHED ... he hasn't been around for days. He hasn't been warbling and screaming in the wee hours of the morning. Lovely Romeo has taken his place and this makes me happy.
I am happy Rudy has found the birb girl of his dreams and is happily making baby birbs and he's not making those horrible caterwauling calls anymore. I'm sure Mr's Rudy has put a stop to that noise. I am also happy that Romeo has moved in the hood here and sings sweetly to me and others each morning. I'm sure Romeo will soon find the birb girl of his dreams and will move on too ... lets hope we have a bunch of turkey vultures move in the area and keep things quiet after Romeo fly's away.
Yup ... RUDY is HITCHED ... no more screeching in the wee hours of the morning in my hood. It's blissful ... we still have Romeo Robin singing sweetly looking for love in all the right or wrong places but his song is really soft and sweet and not at all intrusive.
So ... Congratulations Rudy you loud mouth SCHNOOK ... I hope your future birbettes are all baby hens and don't need you to be singing and showing them how its done, because its obvious ... you are the William Hung of American Idol in the Birb World.
YOU SUCK ... but I am happy you have found love and are doing what Nature is suppose to do. Making Birb Babies to carry on birbing!
You know, Mr. Peepers, I've been enjoying your stories about your personal dislike of early-bird robins, but I enjoy these bouncy birds, hopping about in the rain. And Sweetheart has a thing for the Jackson 5 song Rockin' Robin -- it gets her swinging and singing along. ♬ ♬
Rudy was out and about at 3am this morning ... I wonder what Rudy did to make the little lady robin angry that he had to shout shout let it all out these are the things I can do without !
He warbled and yodel'd and made a heck of a racket ... I could barely hear sweet Romeo singing a little later. At least Romeo sings from 4am and on. Anyway Rudy was being rude and noisy and made me want to smack him up side his birb brain but I finally managed to fall sleep again. So all is good.
Let's see if Rudy is up and out again tonight or tomorrow morning in the wee hours screaming his lungs out ... who knows maybe he will be partying because of the raptors and their chances at winning their big game tonight.
ABOUT OUTSIDE BIRBS~ Sweetheart has been listening to the grackles singing their whispy songs outside, today. And she started out OK -- doing a fine job imitating their call, but then progressed to sing louder, like your Rudy robin, until she turned her singing into a full-parakeet rant, complete with head bobs. I'm not sure wht set her into "lecture mode" unless she felt that the outdoor birbs were not really paying attention. *laughs* She can really be her own birb! xD
