Question What Have You Been Watching Lately?

I am not a huge TV BUFF ... in fact I don't even own cable tv. I do have Netflix but I rarely watch that either as I am big into music and other things to keep me busy. (beer)

I do keep up with a few shows like Shameless (USA version) Ray Donovan, don't laugh but I enjoy Outlander and want to read the books because I do enjoy history with some strangeness added to it.

Being Canadian I had to check out Schitt's Creek with a pretty much Canadian Cast that made the show brilliant with their quirky characters. The show just ended its 6th season and signed off for good. Sad to see it go!

These days I am watching the 3rd season of WESTWORLD ... I recall the movie from the 70's which featured a demented evil robot who was played by Yul Brenner and he was great in the film. This 3rd season of WestWorld is really odd with a strange look at the future that makes me happy to tune in and view it weekly.

If you have something you really enjoy watching please share with us and maybe enthuse us to look up the show and get in on your fun!

Hey, Mr. Peepers! As I mentioned in an earlier posting, I am a cable television subscriber, and have some favorite TV shows -- Star Trek NG, Star Trek Voyager, Star Trek Deep Space 9, Star Trek Enterprise, and the original Star Trek. And recently, Star Trek's Picard.

But besides my delight in all versions of ST, I enjoy some great Canadian content -- right now I am watching Cash Cab while I am posting this, which is filmed in Toronto. But I also love the period piece Murdock Mysteries (also located in Toronto the Good) , Kim's Convenience, and Schitt's Creek. (The last two being excellent comedies.)

This weekend I have seemed to have hit the jackpot for sampling a bevy of free channel previews. I was able to watch movies all day yesterday [only being interrupted by a constant stack of commercials, at a steady pace, to which I usually scan with the sound off, to save my sanity.]

I am a fan of animated comedies, so it would not surprise you that I enjoy
Family Guy
American Dad
Bob's Burgers
Rick and Morty
Samurai Jack
Archer
Harley Quinn
I can watch all of these cartoons on Adult Swim, which J. and I added to our subscribed list of cable TV channels, after a free-preview month, just after Christmas.

COGECO Cable is smart to offer so many free-preview channels right now, since so many of us are unable to go to movie theatres, and COGECO might be able to pick up new subscribers after the previews are over. Captive audience!

If you have Netflix then I highly recommend you watch Tiger King. I swear they've saved it just to keep us entertained during quarantine. So many twists and turns and so binge-worthy! I don't think it was intended to be so funny and crazy with all sorts of twists and turns but it's one of the most entertaining things I've watched in years. It's nothing like Blackfish either!

There is TOO MUCH to watch right now ... a lot of cable company's and Bell Canada gave options for free to people to have Movie Channels and HBO and Showtime for free because they want to keep the kids amused and safe at home too.

I have work to do at home and I am honestly drained and find it hard to get to some shows lately ... there is a ton on Netflix I haven't gotten to or seen and I don't know when I will find time. Bizarre how there is so much time due to Social Distancing and Quarantine and yet not enough time to watch much and be entertained.

The last series I watched was The Witcher .... and Dracula the BBC version for 2020 mini series.

Both bizarre and really good shows to check out.

Dracula!

What a bad ass Dracula he was!!!!!

My sister, J. L. Hetherington, an aspiring screen writer (she has won some awards for her local work) and her partner, Ronn Sutton, a graphic illustrator, both enjoy horror (Dracula), zombies, and witchy themes, and sometimes send me gifts of these genres. I find them entertaining, but I am not as immersed as the Hetherington-Sutton team can be.

I can catch the odd Stephen King teleplay on the cable stations I can receive right now -- which can be quite good -- but J. and I more often turn to old classic movies (1930's and 1940's) or a comedy (any age) than horror.

I am looking forward to watching a special program to be broadcast on CBC, CTV, Global and City TV, this Sunday (April 26) at 6:30 PM:
Stronger Together, Tous Ensemble

Iconic Canadian artists, activists, actors and athletes share their stories of hope and inspiration in this national salute to our front-line workers.
In other words, if the US can do this sort of thing from their homes, so can Canada, eh?

Shown here -- Justin Bieber, Serge Ibaka, Avril Lavigne, Kiefer Sutherland. ❤️️ ❤️️

I've got to say, this was an amazing production! Definitely not as schmaltzy as the American from-home version, with high-quality musical performances to applaud and savour. A great Canadian 🍁 achievement!
