Such a colourful birb from India.
I remember reading a post by an individual (not from this forum site) who claimed to own a parakeet with a purple face, and wondered what the chicks would look like if his bird was bread. Everyone on this particular site had never known of a parakeet with this type of coloration -- and told him so. But what if he was referring to a wild plum-headed parakeet (male) and not a domesticated-bread bird? If so, he would need to breed his male with a grey-faced (female) plum-headed parakeet to breed true.
For more information on this wild parakeet, here is a link> Plum-Headed Parakeet |Psittacula cyanocephala from eBird.
