Unhappy First Night Away...

Tonight is my first night away from Belle! I'm watching 2 dogs for a friend and she insisted that I spend the night with her dogs.. At least I'll only have one night to go after this. I'll miss waking up to Belle flock calling!
Plus it's my first night away from my fiance since last summer!

All I can say is I hope I sleep well and these dogs calm down!

Awww, couldn't you bring her along with her and just make sure she's kept in a bedroom or something?
If not, 2 nights isn't too long.

I really wish I could have brought her. These dogs are just too crazy though... They jump all over me, so who knows what they would do to a bird cage! Belle really isn't a big fan of my fiance so that made leaving even worse! I know she won't get out a lot because she bites him so much.. I'm never volunteering to house/dog sit again!

Aww. I know how it feels to be away!

I had a vacation to Colorado last year for a week.

Oh how they must have missed me! I missed them!

I'm trying to figure out the logistics of me and the wife taking a vacation and what to do with the 2 budgies and Hector my new/first conure.

Even my bestest friend, it'll be hard for me to have him stop in and take care of the flock...I'm weird about my personal space like that.

Mal, have you checked out Bird Boarding? we have a couple of places in or around Melbourne that I am told, do an awesome job.
I have been talking to the owners and their staff and have found them to be nothing short of fantastic people.
The owner of one place in the inner Melbourne burb of Coburg is a highly qualified avian vet nurse/assistant and her love of birds of all kinds is just a smidge short of obsession!

Unfortunately the small city I live in is not a very big 'bird town'. There is no local club for the 250,000 people in the surrounding area, and the most exotic bird I've found in any pet store is a toss up between a pineapple green cheek conure and a jenday conure.

I should, however, check with this avian vet to see if they happen to board birdies.
