For Rowie

I really wasn't sure which glove you meant by in my Chalkie thread, so I got some pictures of all four gloves... Jack was my glove model

Here's the really chunky black one. I can't use this one my self. I bought it thinking wow this looks great and when I got it home and tried it out it was WAY too big for my little hands (fits Jack though, so he can have it!). It's a nice glove but not practical. I've used it with my Indian eagle owl but that's about it...It's really thick suade (cannot spell so forgive me!) but too thick, you can't feel a thing! It's two layers thick.

This one is my custom made glove for handling smaller birds such as smaller falcons and owls. It fits my hand ... like a glove... but yeah, Jack really struggled to get it on and off! I like it but I'd never handle Chalkie in it again. Felt like he was crushing my hand last time I did. You can see how small my hands are from this glove tehe. This is made from one layer of leather

This is some cheap 5 glove I got from the falconry festival (they're great for picking up things like that dirt cheap, you can use them and then chuck them when you're done). I've used it two or three times when handling Chalkie but he only likes yellow gloves so it didn't work out too well! It's made from what feels like felt LOL and I think it's a single layer

And this thing is the best glove I have ever owned and I just can't seem to get another quite like it. Hence why I'm stll using the grotty one! Its two layers of what was very lush suade.

It's full of holes, scratches and covered in blood! But I love it still

Such diversity, I wish I still had my harness equipment I would try and make you a couple!
That deluxe black and gray one should be able to be copied by any GOOD saddlemaker! If I still had the full use of both arms and hands I would love to give it a shot.

The first 2 look way too thin to be of any use to you I have had a young wedgie on my arm for about 2 hours when I was about 15, he was injured and we had to take it to Healsville Sanctuary, it didn't fit in any carrier we had at the time and really all we were ever used to handling were reptiles, cats, dogs and horses, but how could I refuse a prince of the sky that couldn't fly!
So we drove for all that time with this huge god like creature firmly clamped to my forearm, I did have a wrap of leather there for some protection but it wasn't much.
I think I bore those scars for 5 or more proud years.

I believe the beautiful animal survived and was later released into the high country.

Now, back to this glove (sorry about the side track )

I was thinking of the yellow one, but seeing as you are still using it then my idea is not going to work.
I was thinking of getting you to post that glove over and then painting the head of an owl or another of the beautiful animals you work with on the inside surface of the glove so that it could be mounted in a case for you or something like that
We'll put that into the "must do that one day" basket for now then

I would love that! I AM getting a nice new glove in May at a falconry festival. I will try some out and get one I think will be nice. I can send the yellow one over then if you like

Was the wedge tail okay after? Poor thing. The hawks and falcons cripple my arms and hands when they grab them. I am thankful the eagles I fly don't grab me haha. Goldies are big, tawny, steppe, Bateleur, Chilean blue, African fish aren't as big, the baldies are the biggest. You outta see the size of the poo!

I believe the young fella was ok after, thankfully!

I can imagine the size and I am thankful I'm not under them when it happens!
