finally got my new camera

it was a surprise kinda. our tax returns came in, so my fiance bought me an early birthday present (my bday is next month). he was gonna get it then, but because my current camera was breaking down on me, he got it early for me....

i LOVE it... its my first time using an SLR camera, i was a little iffy on the MP but have got the chance to test it out before buying it and i love it!!!

i got a Canon Rebel EOS T3 with a 18-55 mm lens and a 75-300 mm zoom lens, as well as some filters, a case, a tripod, and a good memory card (the case, filters, tripod) all came in the case as a kit.

I am pretty happy with it and have been testing it out!!

no instructions for me, i am winging it :P

what i was using before

what i will now be using

and of course... ive had some pretty good models

will put the bird photos up in the photo section

mine came with its own battery, so finger's crossed it wont lol

my old one ate the batteries... lucky they were rechargeables. they died in a day and they were energizers... though i used it like 200-500 pictures a day depending on my mood

Congrats! I'm do jealous haha! It's the camera I'm getting at some point but rebels in the UK are called EOS. Your photos are great! Be sure to get a 55-200 lens when you can, it's what I use most of the time. I'm saving for a telephoto lens at the moment which is gunna take me for ever your cats eyes look AMAZING in those pics too. Oo, Rebels shoot in full HD don't they? Let me know how that goes cause that's the main reason I want one haha

mine is HD, its an EOS and i have a 18-55 mm lens and a 75-300 mm zoom lens the 18-55 is macro and the 75-300 the store told me was a telephoto... im not sure on that but it does shoot VERY far!

its the first camera that takes photos of the cats without the flash in their eyes, the shutter is super fast. im just not used to a heavy camera yet so im just messing around with it. once i am used to it i'll get a little bit more serious with it. i have an art show to go to this summer, so i need some more photography done.

The 75-300 is good, it's what I take all my zoo photo stuff on, it works really really well for far distance photos, but the telephoto lenses I'm on about are the ones which are black and white, and VERY large you can get one that isn't nikon or canon for like 300! I think it's from Opteka, hang on

That's the one I'm getting, can't afford Nikon or Canon ones at the moment My 18-55 is what I use with the birds if I'm close to them, but if they're on their cages or in them on the other side of the room then I tend to only use my 55-200

I just have the lens that it came with. When I got my camera it was just the camera and the regular lens and then I had to buy the SD card seperately.

the lens it comes with is a macro lens, if its the 18-55 mm. i got the kit with the extra zoom lens. i got the sd card, and a bag kit. the bag kit came with a sturdy rain proof padded bag, 3 filters (have yet to try out), and a tripod... the sd card is like indestructable lol i am surprised. its waterproof, shockproof, xray proof, power surge protected, and temperature resistant... lol why it needs all this... gotta wonder what people do with things lol.

but matter is that it will be sturdy for me. the carry bag is well needed for me. i seem to have bad luck. so the protection is great. that, and its a bulky heavy camera so the shoulder bag is nice. and the strap goes across my chest and over my right soulder... perfect for me, saves me the pain in the left shoulder from my arthritis
