Unhappy starting to worry

It's been raining heavy since yesterday.
The drain covers near where Bob is boarding are 4 inches in the air with water coming up them.
I rang and they're ok atm.
She'll ring if there's a problem.
There's 2 inches of water outside my backdoor.
It's coming up through the ground as well as out of the sky.
The Aviary is built up 6 inches and that part of garden is higher.
All roads are shutting, my daughters at nursery and my sons at school.
I don't think hubbys getting home from work.
It's kinda scary now, heavy thunderstorms forecast for this afternoon.
I think we're getting cut off. My friends car has floated away down her street.
She's being rescued as soon as they get the cat in the carrier.
Water is 4 feet high there. She lives 4 miles from me.
The radio says not to go out if you don't have to.
Whilst I typed that in the water is now 3 inches deep!
I better get my wellies outta the car.
They've now closed all roads out of my town.

That's terrifying! It's just spitting a bit in the west midlands. I guess we're lucky! I hope everything is okay

Just spitting by me.

Hope your all going to be ok.

Do you have many birds in the avairies? Any chance you could get them all into carry cages just in case?

I have 6 tiels, they're better off where they are now to be honest.
My sons school is closing at 1.30.
I went out back and pulled up the drain cover and it was full to the brim.
It's getting proper scary, I've started taking the photos and stuff upstairs.
Keep my eye on aviary, got spare cage at ready can put it upstairs.
Oh please God.
Even if it stops raining the run off from the hills is bad.
I live in Bognor Regis, West Sussex.
We're pretty much cut off now. My neighbour has a small fishing boat. Luckily he was repairing it at the weekend, at home.
Front is clear now but lower than back.
Rain eased for now.
Water still coming up through ground though.

Raising the drain cover has done something.
Water level dropping slowly.
Maybe drain was blocked.
Phew!
Off to get kids and check on Bob.
Wellies at ready

It took me 40 minutes to drive 2 miles!
Lots of roads closed.
Water level outside dropping but my toilet is full.
Had to bail some out.

I lived thru a flood so I know how scared u r! My thoughts r with u. Our house was empty cause we were supposed to close in a couple of days. It went off the foundation and was completely destroyed. We lost all of our equity which took years to build. I hope and pray for a better outcome for u!

Thanks guys.
The drain seems to be working in the right direction again.
We had a months rain in 6 hours.
It's still raining.
The water level outside has dropped and so has the level in the loo.
My mum lives 15 miles away and its stopped there.
Still heavy here.
Lots of roads closed.
2 friends flooded out.
Our houses tend to be more brick so don't leave foundations often.
Just flood through and soak the water up in the plaster.
It takes about a year to dry out and stinks.
Hopefully we've come through the worst.

So to keep you updated.
Bognor is currently an island. We're cut off.
A lot of my friends are stuck in their houses.
It's still raining heavy with storms forecast for tonight.
More storms forecast for tomorrow but allegedly we'll have some sun.
It'll be morning before the floods stop rising due to run off from the hills.
I might end up with friends round as they have a baby an their electric is out.
Visited Bob in the shop and he's fine. Coming home Wed if flood subsides.
I'll post flood pics later.
I've a strange feeling might not see hubby tonite.
There is a small lane passable with care but not advisable.
I saw people getting rescued from roofs of floating cars earlier.
It all seems a bit surreal.
Thanks for all your kind words.
My poor friends roof has just caved in.
Thank goodness they got out.
And guess what!
We're officially in a drought and not allowed to use hosepipes or sprinklers!

Thank you all.
We got off light.
When the tide came in at 5pm it backed up the storm drains.
My friends are flooded.
The sandbags are not holding.
My poor friend has Been flooded and her son whose 2 has cystic fibrosis.
He can't be in a damp house. They moved in last September.
She also has a baby girl whose about 9 months.
It's flooded a hospital in the next town over.
Another friend just had their dream kitchen fitted..
There's pics on fb of my friends houses, cars, businesses.
It's so sad.
Flooding is so.bad we made the national news.
I hope Bob is ok.
Oh no! More rain on the forecast.
Don't know if school is open.
Sorry to go on so. It's such an unusual event.
And us British are obsessed with the weather!
I hope I can help my friends out tomorrow.
My estate is completely cut off tonight.
Only half a mile away they're under feet of water.

Well school was cancelled, took my daughter to nursery and went for a drive.
The water is gone but its a mess.
There's abandoned cars that were floating yesterday, collapsed drains, police tape across roads.
Trees down and debris everywhere. Mostly rubbish.
In one road the whole sewer has collapsed.
It's wierd.
