I have actually inquired at the rescue I currently have a bird from about adopting this bird... if they give me the OK given the circumstances, then I will apply for him

http://www.parrot-rescue.org.uk/port...1/Default.aspx

Dusty is definitely one of my dream birds. I always wanted a black capped lory and a dusky lory when I was little. I had seen them in a few bird keeping books and never seen one in person until I went to Loro Parque. I was lucky enough to snatch up Darwin, my black capped, but have yet to find a dusky. When I came across him I FREAKED! Only issue is he is 2 hours away, but I know for a fact not many people in the UK are keeping the larger lories and I may be the only offer put in for him. Upon arrival he will definitely need to be tested for PBFD and psittacosis, especially as he has lost a few flight feathers. I'm also a bigger pain and actually need somebody to drive me down there, or organize with the rescue for somebody to transport him for me, as I don't drive other than the distance and him struggling with transport, I think he would be perfect here. I have been wanting a buddy for Darwin and if it works out and they do get along I will be thrilled

If, however, it doesn't work out, I am considering adopting this guy. He's been on the rehoming list now for so long and I think somebody should come forward. Not to mention I miss my Echo dearly...

May I just add a note at the end of this about sharing adverts. On most forums, including this one, you cannot comment on the birds living conditions etc. from the adverts (even though it is hard NOT to at times!). Please keep it in mind, as long as there isn't any of that then this thread will be a fantastic idea

I would love to have an African Grey but my bird room is seriously very dusty already. I also worry if I ever have to move there wouldn't be enough space for the grey and it would break my heart if I have to rehome one of my fids... But yeah a grey for me if I win the lottery

Hyacinth, which I probably will never have. But a more realistic dream bird of mine is either a greenwing macaw, or a blue and gold macaw.

My dream bird for 10 years was a blue Quaker. Now it is a yellow one or a white one.

I quite fancy a sun conure, I love how they look with immature plumage!
