New bird soon :D

Hi everyone , I've not been that active off late due to being on vacations .

I had just decided to get an alexandrine parakeet in october when a friend last week contacted me asking whether I'd like to take on an IRN . This one apparently has been handraised and is really tame . I do have experience with IRNs but had decided to go with something different this time . He showed me a pic of the bird and I'm embarassed to say that I've fallen in love with its colours . I'm going to meet the bird next week to see if I like him or not .

Heres a pic . Do any of you have any idea about his mutation ? I've never seen one like him before.

I also took in a few more budgies last week including a grey TCB .

I can't get over how beautiful the TCB is! Congratulations on your new additions. So you have a flock of budgies (9?), the cockatiel and the lovie now right ?

I don't know the mutation, but it looks like a white head dilute turquoise or something. Very pretty! Are you sure you want another IRN though? I only ask cause you wanted a more hands on bird right?

You're absolutely right about me wanting a more hands on bird. But the initial sight of the bird is too tempting . I haven't made my mind up yet though . I'll only decide for sure once I meet him a few times.

Oh and its 22 budgies . I've been breeding some of my pairs . I had 11 babies during the year . I'm currently in the process of looking for homes for a few of the chicks . I was supposed to do it a few months ago but I just couldn't let myself give away any
. I don't know how people manage to do it all the time .

The cockatiel and lovie are bonded pair . I was contemplating getting another tiel as company since he isn't tame ; but my guy seems perfectly happy with his lovebird partner .

No I remember seeing those adorable pictures of your lovie and tiel cuddling and I thought it was insane how bonded they are 22!!! That went up fast I've got 21? I think... something like that. So far I've kept 3 of this years and another 1 recently hatched too

Yeah I'd get to know him first just so you don't end up disappointed

The tiel and lovebird are a proper couple . They share a cage and even sleep huddled up . The lovebird aka Mango is like a dog . He just follows the tiel everywhere. The eat from the same food bowl even though I keep 2 . The bathe together , fly around together ....its quite amazing actually . I find these 2 boys are more in love than even a breeding budgie pair .

I'm rehoming 2 chicks today . They're around 4 months old but I'm too attached to them .
21 is a quite a lot ! But theres no such thing as too many budgies . .
I'm looking forward to breeding my TCB male late this year . Hes going to make some beautiful babies hopefully .
