Cage Door Skirt

I don't know if anyone has seen these or not:
http://www.doorskirts.com/

I saw them advertised in the back of a Bird Talk magazine and ordered an 8" set for Libby's (Pineapple Green Cheek Conure) HQ flight cage. She recently "inherited" this larger cage from one of the Parrotlets I had to give up. :(

She loves her new digs, but when I have one of her cage doors open so she can go in and out, she perches on top of the door, so I've had to put newspaper on the floor underneath the door. Then I had to constantly watch my 3 dogs, to make sure they stayed away from the poop paper.

Anyway, the Door Skirt seemed like a great solution -- and it is. They attach to the door easily, one skirt on each side of the door.

Here's my little problem: Libby insists on laying in the skirt and playing! She'll perch on the door, but always climbs back down to lay in the skirt! Little goofball!

I'm hoping she'll get bored with this game and leave them alone -- what do you think?

Here's a couple of pictures of her, just to give you the idea. She also wants to chew on the Door Skirt, as you can see!

That looks like a great idea! :) Freddie is my only bird that hangs out on the cage door, but he tends to go all over the cage top...and poop from all over. I don't bother with paper, as the floor is laminate, and easy to wipe up.

Libby runs all over the cage, playstand on top, sides, everywhere, too, but most of the poops occur when she's sitting on that door. I had to put newspaper down because her cage is on our hardwood floor, but when the door is open, it's over the area rug. If I can get the timing right, I hold her over a lined wastebasket and say, "Make a poopie" and she does! (Wait and see, those will be her first words!)

Poop, Levi... Poop were Levi's first words, and the only consistent words that he says!:giggle:

Sharon - Oh dear -- I bet the same thing happens with Libby! I may have heard her say "baby" yesterday, but then again, I could be hearing what I want to hear! I'll keep hoping for her to say what I'm trying to teach her! "Make a poopie" isn't exactly company conversation! LOL!

I don't worry...Levi's voice is not really understandable to ears that are not used to Linnie Talk! :giggle: I do have to be very careful with Freddie though. He already says things from the previous home that I wouldn't want company to hear!!!
