How do you know when it is time to move in together?

For those of you whose bird's share a cage, how did you know it was time or that it was safe?

I am referring to a linnie and a budgie. Both babies.

They are different species so they need separate cages.

I personally wouldn't house them together UNLESS they were super bonded (I'm talking inseparable) and had a very large cage with plenty of room to get away from each other if needs be. Only you know your own birds

I would not house then together. Just let them have VERY supervised play time.

you just have to watch how they interact, but it is too early to make a decision yet. Since they are both so young, you don't really know their true personalities. I would hold off any decision to house them together until after they have reached adulthood and gone through puberty/mood swings.
