My neighbour has a jenday... she is very sweet and cuddly.. she is best friends with her 10 or 11 year old granddaughter and the little girl can do most anything with her... she uses her as a living dolly...lol However she is VERY loud... apparently she loves to sleep in bed with the lady ( never a good idea as they can get squashed or suffocated when you are sleeping and many people have lost birds this way ) so she starts at 5:30 or 6 am screaming to get in bed with her... It is driving them nuts and I believe they are thinking of rehoming her because of it... I told her that she trained her to do that but she didn't listen to me... anyhow, they are awesome birds... but loud. They do need a fairly large cage... I would not use anything smaller than a 32 x 21 x 35 inch cage... ( HQ flights are what I have) but I like my birds to have roomy homes.

A flight cage would be a very suitable home for a Jenday being 'tame' depends on the individual bird, you may have one who is or who isn't, all down to the individual. A hand raised baby should be hand tame though, providing the breeder has put enough effort into handling them etc.

Overall, they tend to be very sweet hands on birds. They can be nippy, but it's a behaviour your can work on. They can also be horrific screamers and sound very similar to sun conures. As long as you can put up with their pitch, I think you'd have a good relationship with one
