thanks everyone for the kind words. we just did a session now and he is really improving a lot. now he brings back a penny/nickle/ring wherever i place my hands. i make him bring back all 3 before a treat so its not not that polished. after he does this with no hesitation, i will try to see if i can get him to go farther and farther and even flighted fetch. he always seems so eager to have training sessions. i decided to pause his harness training for awhile. its getting cold anyway so i figure i will restart harness training after winter. it might be better if he forgets about his treacherous harness and restarts fresh. i felt like he was losing a bit of my trust for awhile since he sometimes didnt want to come to me in fear that he has to harness train.

Mango is absolutely adorable! It is so fun to train them because in that moment you are truly both speaking the same language. It is a great feeling. Isn't it amazing how they learn so fast? My parrotlet does turn around and wave too, although his wave isn't as nice and high as Mango's! Great job with him. I just want to kiss him, lol. He is too darn cute.

Awesome! Are you going to be free flying him? He'd be excellent at it!

whats free flying? if you mean will he be flighted, absolutely. He flys in my house all the time already just that the feathers arent completely back yet but he still can fly pretty far. After they grow back completely, i will keep him that way. maybe one day i will get him to like a harness so i can take him outside with it. now i just resort to taking him out in his carrier.

Free flying is flying a bird outdoors without any harnesses etc.

oh hellll no. its too risky lol. i am confident that he wont fly away or anything but he does get spooked easily. so when he gets spooked, often he will fly away but then wait for me to tell him to come back or pick him up. but in nyc with so many buildings/trees, i might not even be able to see him and might lose him. So probably wont be free flying him.
