Talking Inevitable...

So as I started looking at friend to get Luna, I was inevitably drawn back to green cheeks haha. I really miss Felix still, he was such an amazing bird. Is it a good Idea to get another one? I would hope the two could get a long eventually. Any thoughts?

I wouldn't bet on them getting along, but I'm sure Luna will enjoy her company even if they don't have out of cage time together

Are GCC's typically that aggressive toward other birds?

Yes mine would try and take on my Amazon, individually or as a flock. They're usually quite nasty

Yes. They are known for this.

Here at the rescue we have a small bird free flight room. We have a mixed flock of Gcc, irns, budgies, tiels, and doves. There is no fighting or squabbling. But it all depends on the birds. Tjey all live together but still have small flocks amongst the large flock.

I just talked to my breeder, the one I got Felix from and suggested a rose crowned conure. There is little to no information on them, anybody heard anything? He said they were milder GCCs and generally cuddle bugs.

Is the rose crowned the Rosifron? It is isn't it? I remember considering them a few years back before I got my first green cheek

Availability. I'd never had a hand raised bird before, but tons of aviary birds. I had no idea how small green cheeks would be in person though but yeah, I found one ad in the whole of the country and the bird had been sold but then I got an awesome turquoise yellow sided green cheek instead, which I do not regret

Wow! We have a rosifron. I have only seen them the one time that we got ours. He is so much sweeter and quieter than a gcc. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I am trying to decide between them or a Pionus. I love Pionus parrots and have been considering them for sometime since they seem so laid back and get along with most other animals and birds.

I would also highly recommend a pionus! They are my absolute favorite bird. Right now we have a blue headed, a maxi, and 3 baby white caps. They are quiet and laid back and yet love to play.
