can it be? yes it is!

yes it is 6/8ths of the flock out on the tree!

Bowie is the tree newbie. Bobby is also pretty new to coming out but he is getting better and would rather come out by himself, then getting on a perch to come out. I was sick of having bowie be the only one (in my room) in the cage while everyone was out on the tree. so i started training him. he was nervous stepping up on the perch and didn't want to eat millet as a reward. but i kept doing it even though he wasn't thrilled. then a few days ago i got him on the perch and rushed him out the big door (probably not the best plan) and he kept flying back and i eventually got him out. Bowie being new to training and coming out, flew out like a crazy bird andů.sadly flew into my wall and fell behind my dresser. and there is no way of moving it with a fish tank on top and on the side. so i had to take a long dowel and shoo him out from underneath. luckily he was ok. he isn't the greets flier and i caught him and clipped 2 inner flight feathers to prevent any more high speed crashes. and i put him on the tree he was loved immediately by leon and Baby Bird. he got used to things and was pretty comfortable.

he is so pretty with his coloring.

all 6 of them!

Bowie not really enjoying Baby Bird's company

i always get pic with their eyes half closed

Bobby eventually joins. he is like his big bother and really loves him

yesterday bowie was out for the whole day and he is getting better. he came out much easier today he is definitely special needs with his weak foot (with a missing toe) and he is very weak at flying, which he will hope fully get some muscle once he gets used to everything and grows back the few feathers.

"cock-a-doodle-do!"

bobby grooming him. they spend all day grooming each other

puffing up to shake

at was trying to line them up for a flock picture but butch kept flying away so i did the best i could. it will be nice when the 2 new guys are trained

nap time with Bobby Bird

annndů. for the heck of itů. Mr. Butch's back

Hi Shelly,

Great looking flock, they all look happy and content. What a great looking tree too, I know that my lot would love something like that, but space is the problem.

Great looking photos too.

Cheers,

John.

thanks the trees do take up a lot of room, but it is worth it with the flock of 6 on there now and 2 more to be tamed! everyone love the freedom and the 4-10 hours of playtime a day

Having a flock of keets that aren't that I interested in me makes me want to adopt parrots larger than a keet I really want a conure I can bond with. It would be nice to have a bird I can bond and spend my day with and take the little flock out to play on the tree and I can watch them. Of course I don't think I would mind getting 2 more keets to make it an even 10 I do want to adopt 2 more colors, a mostly yellow one and I am still on the search for an opaline YF type 2, like Pumble was there was both of those colors when i was adopting the last ones, but a boy who seemed irresponcible picked them out first but I think getting 2 more keets would be after getting a 'larger' parrot, IF I can manage to get one

Don't tell the others but I think Bowie may be my favourite What a gorgeous budgie! And it's great they can all spend time together. Two more to go!

Shelly, I love your budgie flock with all those different beautiful colors. Bobby is so adorable!
Honestly I'm not sure whether a conure would fit to them.
Budgies can also be very bonded to you like Cozette from 4thebirds.

I think I have to agree! Bowie is my favorite color of the group and Leon is my favorite personality! Butch is just a typical bird who loves Leon And gets jealous if he isn't getting attention

if I ever got a conure, it wouldnt be with the budgies on the tree. I would be with it alot I had a strong bond with my first parakeet, Pumble. I was bonding with Leon for a while but as I got a bigger flock, he wanted to be with them instead. I have been thinking about trying again, but I also want to spent time getting everyone else to come on my finger instead of just a perch. They are just scared and I don't know how to go about it :S

Have you tried target training? I have found it to be the most effective training method and it helps bring you and your bird closer. Training breaks the barrier between you both

I can't say that I have tried I would think that Bobby and Bowie would be very afraid of the stick. I would have to learn more about this type of training

What a beautiful flock! I would work with them and try to train them and not ruin such a beautiful flock with a Conure that would demand all your attention JMO :-)
