SCARED bird!

My jenday conure is familiar with my voice but hates my hands!
The only way I know I am communicating with my bird is that I say " Pretty girl, Let me see my pretty girl" She goes to the cage stretches her wings and puffs up but then when I put my hand , She freaks out! I have tried treats - no use, Perch/hand technique- no use. Nothing works I was thinking maybe over the days She would get used to it but I guess not.

My Flock:
Boomer- , Chili- , Ranger- ,
Daisy-

And also how old is she? Did you get her from a baby or an adult?

You need to give her time to get used to you. Do you know much about her background?

I know that she is a breeding bird. She was only used for breeding. Cam from a dirty place so basically saved her.

She is doing well for a bird who was not a pet. You are doing well, too.

Thanks Shivani for the awesome siggy!

I thought that too nanay because of the siggy.

But yes, if she was a breeder then you are still doing very well, breeders are obviously not pets and so require some more work than your normal bird!

I'm glad I asked, then. I hope I keep it straight from now on.

Can you tell us the names of your budgies and their colors. I know I'm asking a lot, but I just like to know.

By the way, Daisy, my daughter's maximillian pionus, is also a retired breeder, although she is older than DJ. Daisy is 14. She is a very good pet. She had been handfed as a baby. After her mate died, she just returned to being as sweet as any handfed pet of her age. I understand that Daisy is unusual. Most retired breeders who become pets take a long time to make the adjustment. DJ is very lucky to have you.

Thanks Shivani for the awesome siggy!
