Trying to Talk?
I think Kiki might be trying to talk or repeat some things. I often wolf whistle and say Kiki around her. Two days ago, I heard her make a noise that sounded kind of like a wolf whistle. She did it a few times. After I thought about it, I wondered whether she was actually saying Kiki, just because when I enthusiastically say Kiki, it is similar to a wolf whistle. Then for the past two nights, after she is in her little bed (oh yeah, I forgot to mention that instead of buying a hanging bed for Kiki, I experimented and ended up hanging this shirt that I don't use, and shaped it into a sort of hanging bed, and she absolutely loves it. She hangs out on the sides on her back, and then when it's time for bed, she ROLLS into it and sleeps. It's adorable!) I hear her sort of mumbling different weird sounds. I'm wondering if she's practicing what she's heard, as I've heard birds do before sleeping. I know Sun Conures aren't known for talking, but they can still do it. So I'm really hoping this is what is happening!
(ALSO! I just heard the Patagonian Conures are as big as African Greys...is that true?)
