What sex is my ringneck?

I've had Marvel about 6 months and the whole time I've found myself wondering just what sex she is. Initially I was told she was female but they didn't seem to know how the guy who told them that knew that.

She's about 17 months old so even if she was male there's a chance she wouldn't have the ring yet, though she has developed a pale green ring most of the way around her neck. Also, males seem to have a more sleek sort of smooth look and Marvel is a bit fluffy and scruffy.

The reason I'm not 100% sure she's a girl though is that I've looked up the behaviour of the different sexes and she seems to display like a male. Often she sits up on top of her cage and crouches slightly, leaning forward and opening her wings into a heart shape and kind of quivering. She screeches at me until I look at her or give her attention. She's never shown the female behaviour of tilting her head back and clucking.

I know I could get a DNA test done but I'm not sure she'll let me get near enough to pluck out feathers or get a blood sample. So just wondering if anyone's any good at sexing ringnecks and has any ideas.

Thanks =)

I can take some pictures to show if needed.

They're not the best pictures as she kept flying off so I had to zoom a little!

100% you have a girl Even though some males can get their ring later on, I do think you'd of had a few black freckles coming in by now

Also, I don't know whether it's just me or not, but she looks like she could be a mutation. It could just be the camera/lighting/whatever but she looks a bit like an olive from where I'm sitting

Thanks Daisy =)

I did think she was a girl, she just threw me with her displaying behaviour!

The pictures are pretty true to her actual colour. She's definitely not as light green as some ringnecks I've seen pictures of.
