Quick question for the medium/large parrot owners

I am planning to order some larger toy parts and make 7 toys to donate to the parrot rescue that I had high hopes of adopt a parrot from for my 18th birthday. I am used to making little toys and just using plastic links to hang them. Thy toys I will be making will not be huge but will have larger parts to them. I don't want to spend a fortune on SS links so do you think that plastic rings that snap and hold shower curtains up would be ok to use?

You can get those shower curtain clips that are metal, they should be in the same place as the plastic ones. The only issue I can see with using those is the Parrot getting their feet/head stuck in them.

The toys that they would go on have parts that are for too's and macaws and their heads are too big to get stuck. The others would be more suited for medium parrots in which I could probably use my normal plastic links for them

Well then the only OTHER issue with the metal shower clips is that you'd have to make sure that they were made with safe metals. Other than that I think they'd be good!

You can't use plastic with macaws, toos, amazons or any other large species, they would chew them up before you can say Jiminy Cricket. They have powerful beaks!

Stainless steel hooks are not that expensive anymore. I just bought 12 big ones at Home Depot and paid $2 and change for each.

If the clips you're using have splits in them, be VERY careful with the bigger guys. I've seen some horrific photos of birds beaks caught up in the little gap that you use to slide them on to things

So if I get some SS pear shaped clips at home depot, what size should I get?

Don't get anything that doesn't have a big opening. I use the S shape stainless steel large hooks because there is no danger of the birds getting their beak caught in them.
