I have a 10 week old yellow sided green cheek conure. I am trying to see about a proper cage for him. How much bigger should he get when he's full grown? He is larger than a cockatiel right now....9 inches in length. Thanks
I have a CC also. I have him in a flight cage and he uses every inch of it. It is full of all kinds of toys and things for him to climb on. I would get the biggest cage you have room for.
I agree - get the biggest cage you can afford and have room for! Libby is very active and uses all of her flight cage -- top, bottom and sides -- sometimes all at once! LOL!
As far as the size of a GCC, the only thing I noticed was after Libby went through her first molt (she turned 1 yr. old in Feb.), her new red tail was longer than her old one. For a while, it seemed to get in her way and she kept moving her butt one way or the other to unbend her tail. She's fine now and used to it, but it sure bugged her for a while!
