How many birds do you guys have?

The title pretty much explains it. On TalkCockatiels, theres a thread that people update with the number of 'tiels they have and the number is just immense. I'm curious about here, with so many different species of birds and a wonderful cross mix between casual owners and those who maintain much larger flocks.

So, what about you guys? How many birds do you own and what are they? If you don't know the exact number in an aviary, try and estimate? Tame ones or not tame? I really would love to see the variation (:

I have two linnies and about 2-4 canaries (it varies because I only have room for 1-2 pairs and my father has room for more, so they go there)

My indoor flock consisted of a black capped conure, 3 green cheek conures and a hybrid conure, a lesser sulphur crested cockatoo, black capped lory, yellow streaked lory, Blue Mountain Swainson's lorikeet, a dusky lory and a green naped lorikeet, an orange winged Amazon parrot, 2 Alexandrine parakeets, a cockatiel and a budgie (when I moved to my new home). That's 16 companion parrots before they passed away. In my aviary I have around 40 budgies or so, a pair of cockatiels, a pair of red fronted kakarikis, a diamond dove, 2 black cheeked lovebirds, a Harris' hawk and an American kestrel. So at one point I had around 80 birds up until recently when I rehomed my peach faced lovebirds and my companion parrots passed on. For now I'm going to say I've got around the 50 mark

I have 3 budgies and 1 linnie and hoping to add 3 more budgies soon.

Two tiels, a pair of budgies, and my GCC any day. Scurvy is a Velcro bird, and after a full year salty is just starting to wonder if head scritches are worth the scary finger. Kiwi and sprite are about halfway tame. Neither are into being held but don't panic if I need to interact with them. One day.

Would love to hear more about your red fronted macaws. I have only seen them on two occasions and they're such beautiful parrots!

Daisy,
You requested more information on my Red Fronted Macaws. I have one unsexed but feel a male, one DNAed male, and one DNAed female. They are my husbands birds as he always wanted a Red Fronted, I am more of a conure and caique type person. The Red Fronts are very vocal, scream most all day long and of the three two are pluck severely. From what I have read, Red Fronts are prone to pluck, which from my experience must be true. We feed an excellent varied diet, they are not caged, except at night and are free flighted with lots of toys and such. Vet said nothing medically wrong with them. My husband said if he had investigated more before getting them, he would not have. I told him, I warned him of all this, but you know men and their taking advise from women! LOL

LOL- Yes, they all seem to share that trait, don't they? And no matter how long you've been right or how many I told you so!'s there have been, they still don't listen, bless their stubborn hearts and weak memories!

I have 4 linnies. I like that they can all be out together, don''t have to worry about aggression. I did have a parrotlet for years she didn't like the other birds. I was tired of having to closely watch her when she was the only one out of the cage because she would soon wander to the other cages biting at them. I gave her to my grieving friend whose plet died, and that's how my fourth linnie came to be.

owned by linnies: Levi, Skyler Karma, and Bindi
