finally found good vet wrap!

i have been looking for a good vet wrap for my guys for a while. my vet said that i could use horse vet wrap so i went to the tack shop and got some Co-Flex vet wrap- way to sticky (compared to the vet rap the vet sold me) and stinky. the other day i went to Dover Saddlery and got some 3M brand vetwrap and it is great! not overly sticky and i just rolled some out and let it air out for a day (i am overly cautious with smells with my flock) and it is great. only $1.99 a roll

really? I haven't had success with it. it just peels right off on its own in a few days after putting it on--also gets gooey. it makes me sad because there aren't many other reasonable options for my pvc gym.

Can you wrap rope or twine around the pvc pipe? That's what I've seen in pictures and it seems to work! I also like the 3M brand of vet wrap.

Funny story, I had a roll of what was called Coban (turns out to be a 3M product) from my podiatrist after an ingrown nail surgery years ago... turns out it is the same (just marketed for medical use for humans) as the vet wrap in the pet store! Made me laugh But it works well on slippery branches, doesn't smell, and doesn't get sticky or gooey.

Edited to add: Plus, there are so many colors! I had bright pink after my toe surgery but now I use a dark blue color which looks nicer on the perches!

this stuff is just sticky enough to stick to itself securely and it is not gooey at all. the stuff for humans is probably on the same idea but it costs more to get less.

some of my flock does not mind it and other hate it. butch is afraid of sitting on fleece and he doesn't really like the vet wrap either he spends a lot of time making that "i hate you" noise (that kind of sounds like a dolphin), when he is in the cage. he sits on non covered perches and gets mad when someone comes near… its really hard to fall asleep and wake up to
