My new green girl!

Hey everyone!
So the day has finally arrived when I will be getting a second linnie! I think I held out pretty long before caving to multiple bird syndrome haha. It's been a year and 4 months that I've had Cleo and it's been quite the wild ride - she is so much fun to have around, even when she's being crazy lol

Anyways, here are some photos from Ineke's (breeder) group on FB. She is so adorable, eh? She's such a gorgeous green color too!

Yeah so it will be a looong day for her tomorrow! She is on a flight from 7:45 am out of Ottawa to Vancouver. That is a four hour flight, and then a half hour flight in the afternoon to Nanaimo where I will pick her up. Then 1.5 hr drive home. I'm sure she will want a rest after that!

She is so beautiful! Do you have a name for her yet? I would call her Emmy, short for Emerald

Wow, that's a VERY long trip for such a little bird, I hope everything goes well and that your new friend suffers no lasting effects.

She is so beautiful. I am jealous, I want a green one . Is she a wild green or a dark green? Linnie colors don't photograph reliably. Cleo is going to be so happy to get a friend (and so are you, two linnies are twice as fun)

I'm so envious! i want another linnie, but my vet reminds me of the cost (actually his cost) so I refrain. I saw a couple of cuties at a bird show and I wanted one so much.

Wow! I absolutely love the color on her. Can't imagine how excited you are to bring her home! Never had a bird travel by plane, I hope all goes well and that she arrives safely to you.

Wow she is very beautiful, congratulations Normal green linnies are just as stunning as their mutations in my opinion

As for the travel, I don't think it will do her much harm at all. I see that birds have a lot more freedom compared to say cats or dogs on flights and they will provide her with plenty of food and water. I'm sure it will all go very smoothly. Good luck! Pics are a must

Thanks everyone! Sorry I haven't been on here much recently. I'm feeling pretty sick lately and also been spending time with Xena (that's what I've decided to name her!) and seeing how she will get along with Cleo. So far Cleo is scared of Xena and will fly away from her. Xena follows her and clearly would like to play haha. Today all the family had dinner together, including both linnies, who actually ate on the table together (albeit opposite sides!) It's been great.

One thing I've noticed is how different Xena and Cleo are. Cleo reminds me of a conure or a bigger bird in a way - she seems to love to her herself squawk and is such a velcro bird, especially with my Dad. Xena is a lot of fun because I get to watch her entertain herself with toys, which Cleo doesn't do much playing with even though I've tried to 'teach' her how to play with toys!
So it's neat to see their differences and little quirks. Xena also makes the cutest little warble sounds that I've never heard before since Cleo mostly does loud calls! Anyways, that's what's been happening.

Xena sounds like my Mina. Outgoing, playful, and independent. Sounds like you are having fun with them.

Sarah happy to hear you are having fun with Xena, I love her name. Fids are just like kids their personalities can be so different. All of mine enjoy hanging toys and foot toys, including Levi who is 4 yr. which I am happy to say. I was concerned Levi and Karma would stop playing with toys when they wanted to be in the same cage, but that's not the case.

I'm glad too that you are enjoying your birds! They sound like the same difference we have in our two. Comet mostly makes loud calls and Scooter makes all those cute little warbles! Our new Budgie, Snowball (5 months old now) makes some really cute new noises too. The breeder had other species, so I think she picked up some new sounds.
