Bathing

At what age can lorikeets start bathing, and how do you teach them to do so?

I saw the following clip on YouTube and love the fact that for once, my pet will be able to wash itself

wait till shes weaned and youve bonded with her start out by just getting her used to the sound of running water then you can try spraying yourself and around her then try a little spray above the lory a couple times, just go slow and stop if shes getting scared you want to end if on a good note, you can also turn on the tap and see if she likes that, or give her a shallow dish but I wouldnt do that till shes a bit older

Kiki takes every opportunity she can to bathe. My dad who has never been too pleased with me owning birds got her a big bowl of water and watched her take a bath. He thought it was funny.

Agreed with Jenny, wait until they have fully fledged and it should come totally naturally haha! I've never had to teach a bird to bathe

How cute, she looks like she is tap dancing in her bath. I hope your little Nibbles grows up to be a tap dancer too
