bonding ?

Is it healthy to let my 4 month old Sun Conure get use to other people? Will he still bond more with his new daddy?

It is healthy AND it is recommended to let your conure get used to others if possible. Additionally, it will not make it bond any less strongly to you.

Thanks Shivani for the awesome siggy!

Thank you for that. I would hate to lose the bond he is starting with me. But one thing I don't like is a parrot that HATES everyone but its owner. I would like him to remain friendly to others. And is it true that if I got him a mirror he would bond with himself and not me? I just know he is curious when he sits on the bathroom sink with me in the morning. Lol

He is very cute. I do not give my birds mirrors in their cages, but there is one mirror that came on one of their playstands. It is not very reflectictive. I don't think they can really see themselves in it. At any rate, it is not a problem. I just don't want to take a chance regarding putting a mirror in their cage.

My birds love to look at both of us in the bathroom mirror, too.

Thanks Shivani for the awesome siggy!

it is vital in my opinion that you let him meet and get to know other people, the better socialised he is the better the bird!

Aww congrats on your sunny arent they amazing, and yeah early socialization is important as sunnys can get extremely jealous Russ didnt see many people over the winter and that really set him back because he was quite young still.
