Regurgitation

So I had a thread a few months back, when Reptar was still super young, where he was doing this weird head bobbing motion without producing anything.

Now my little man is eight months old and already got his big boy attitude to a degree. I've let my parents know what type of scritches are okay and to avoid his back. The only time his back is touched would be when he's actually laying on his back. He rolls over constantly on his own when he's perched on me, and always flips over in my hand for scritches. Should I begin discouraging both? A little sad, its always been such a silly antic from him.

Anyway, the regurgitation has been happening again recently and a couple minutes ago, I finally got slimed. First was this saliva type liquid, second time was a lovely mash of orange over my fingers. I've been 'marked'. He doesn't seem to be particularly hormonal, isn't acting out of the ordinary at all. I was wondering how I should proceed from here? Limit daily handling, start hormone reduction anyway, just keep an eye out, etc. Just looking for some ideas.

Aww. Mojo and he aren't too far off in age. Looking forward to your replies! Only Mojo is in the terrible midwest (no offense to midwesterners, just a socal/hawaii girl through and through) and is going through his horrible late juvenile molt. Poor guy, I decided to do a tiny (two primary) clip due to our move, and he dropped all his other primaries so can't even fly 4 inches now! He's totally in grumpyville and I don't blame the poor guy!

My suspected hen bobs at my hand but has never brought anything up... I just cover her head with my hand and tell her no and she stops.. Not sure if that's a good way to do it or not.

Ugh. I hear this. My lovebird Kuzco is hormonal as the day is long. He's a little older than your bird. We aren't sure of his exact age, have heard everything from 1-3 years. But my god, this fall, he's just been a mess of constant regurgitation and humping. And he only does it for me. Poor guy. He starts as soon as I wake up in the morning, and it's an all-day job trying to distract him with something else. We've tried everything to get him to stop, but no matter what, right now as soon as he sees me, he just starts regurgitating and gyrating mercilessly.

My budgie feeds so many different things I just can't take them away anymore (like the stainless steel food/water cups). He doesn't feed me but he will feed my fiance's fingers and toes! it's so gross, sometimes he will bring up whole seeds, which worries me because they are not cracked, unless they are what is actually the inside of a cracked seed and I just think it's whole. It's really gross but there's nothing we can do anymore to stop it. Other than that he has never tried to like mate with anything. I would keep doing what you're doing, sometimes you can't prevent 100%
