Birds fly free.

What the heck!
I have been busy cleaning the bird room and water blasting the cages.
I take them out through the garage to waterblaster them on the drive.
All was going well and I was taking the last one out, I had chased Zinny and Sophie off the top of it and wheeled it out.
When I got outside the garage, first one bird flies off me then another.
WTF OH! ****! It's Indy and Bubbles. (Cockatiels). (They had stayed on me while I moved the tall cage) They flew along the front of the garage and around to the aviary and ended hanging off on the wire on the side under the deck. Where the door is.
Got Jay to grab the catch net and back me up as I approach them. Told him to not show the net unless they took flight. (I thought the net might freak them into doing a runner) As they were right by the door. I opened the door, the same time asked Bubbles to step, and he did. Phew! Then it was Indy's turn and he stepped on to Jay and we got them into the aviary.
Stunning. It was as if they knew where to go once they were outside the garage? And if you consider they have only been taken out to the aviary twice before. I am stunned, and very relieved to have them safe. And thank God they are so tame.
So to make it a field trip I took Sophie, CooCoo (Ringneck) Zinny, Gabby, and Alex out there as well.
It's after 5pm and I will have to go sort them out to move back into the bird room, sometime soon. It gets dark around 6/6.30p

A tribute to my lost ones. RIP.

Wow a very close call, its good you had a good plan and it worked for you.

Your birds seem pretty smart and knew that you would bring them back to safety so they hung around that aviary and the door waiting for you.

I'm so happy for you that it ended well.
But it's also your benefit that they are so tame, they don't want to leave their home.
