Lovebirds

Hi,

Do we have any experts with Lovebirds in this group? If so I have a question for you. Which type of lovebird is the cuddliest, loveable, and less flighty if there is one.

Thanks
Julie

Hi,

I'm Ethan I own 2 Peach-faced Lovebirds. In answer to your question I personally think the Peach-faced Lovebird is. Not just because I own 2 of them but they are also the most common Lovebird which often indicates they are the most popular. It is good to get them as baby so that way you can train them from a young age otherwise they can be difficult to handle. Hope this helps.

I actually think peach faced are evil, haha! I have kept them for most of my bird keeping life but the remaining 3 I had went to live with somebody with a large peach faced flock. I don't find lovies particularly cuddly, but if there was a species most likely to be hands on it would be one of the eye ring species. Black masked are the most common of these. I've been breeding them this year and think they're lovely. I also keep the much rarer black cheeked but they're hard to find. I do recommend them if you can get hold of them. There's a few other eye ring species but they're harder to find. Fischer's are somewhere between peachies and black masked
