Smile What Did your Bird/s do to Make You Smile Today?

I thought this could be a fun thread where we post something one of our bird or birds did that made us smile or laugh.

So please share...

Today SPX decided screaming "ACK ACK ACK" loudly over and over again while flapping like a mad bird around the room was funny. It wasn't funny, I was on the phone trying to converse with someone long distance and not able to concentrate due to the loudness of Mr Mouthy Budgie.

The person on the phone said your canary is very loud.

Canary?

Obviously the person on the phone was not a bird person.

Bizarre little creatures aren't they?

When I'm on the phone the SPX'ter goes crazy which is strange because when I'm working from home I'm chatting to him all the time and generally he's quiet and doesn't scream.

So I don't understand how my talking on the phone makes him start screaming loudly. Isn't it the same as when I'm talking to him?

Smart little brat birds.

Today I installed a new sleeping cabin in the aviary. Therefore I was thirty minutes late with the birds' dinner.
For that reason Paulchen was so greedy that he fell into the parrots's food bowl when he discovered some sunflower seeds.

Don't know why but he does it sometimes when I check my messages too. Maybe they hear a new voice?

Holly lunged at me yesterday and bit my jumper (good job it was thick, she leaves good scars) yesterday and very very very sweetly said "helloooo" in her posh British accent

SPX has been my alarm clock lately which is really odd and unusual for him, he has a very dark cover over his cage and never makes a sound until I come in the den in the early morning and uncover him.

With the daylight coming earlier every day he has been waking earlier and sees the light under the base of the cage so he's calling me and telling me its UPPY TIME and Hurry Up About it!

Once he's uncovered he kicks it up a notch and wakes up every one else in the house and on the block!

His nick name is Little Blue Bird with Extremely Big Beak/Mouth.

Usually they both do so many things that make me smile, but Spring is coming and so Comet is again extremely hormonal! Sreaming and biting.(not that Linnies scream long, but it IS intense - LOL!).

He flys at me and actually attacks (and that boy can bite!) so Scooter and I have to sneak snuggles together lest "he shall not be named" sees us and attacks.

So my smile today came from my sweet Scooter who dared to snuggle with me for a minute while Comet was was sitting on my leg and didn't see it!

Yesterday, Byrdina went with me to the office before we went home. We met a couple of kids and stopped to say hi. Normally he will wave and say "hi". This time he waved and said "Good-bye" very loudly. Guess it was time to go home.

Today, we were watching a couple number song videos. Byrdina decided they were good dance songs and entertained (distracted) the class with his dance moves.

My daughter was playing with her Quaker. She had her laying on her back in her hands, walked up to Dad and placed the bird on his head, then ran off. Daughter was laughing and bird was laying on her back on his head until it started laughing and slid off. Very funny.

Isn't it something how a small creature such as a budgie can be so loud?

When we had our late Newman, he'd yell for our kak, Sneak. "Sneak! SNEAK-Y!" and his voice would echo down our hall. Incredible.

LOL! Not Spandex.

When the bird was a wee thing and new to my home I didn't really have a name for him yet, I noticed when guests came over SPX would do this wild fast flying while swooping at my guests heads and faces all the while screaming and making loud noises.

A buddy of mine said it reminded him of the Special X fighter jets and pilots on his military base so I named the special X fighter pilot bird "SPX."

I did not know that's how he got his name, that's amazing haha!

I gave the red fronted kakarikis some strawberries today and they were one foot hopping around the aviary with them very happily

Today when I got home from work as soon as I got out of the car and shut the door I could hear Pepper's "excited" chirp. She must be able to recognize my car sound because my mom who does not work and is around her all day said she only chirps when I pull in the drive!! that made me smile
