Xandir’s gone/flew away

He was in my bedroom on the play stand and I had gone into the kitchen. I heard him fly and "crash land" and went to go check on him. He apparently hit the screen and it fell out. I'm in a second floor apartment and I looked down and saw him on the ground. I ran out, down, and around the building. I came around the corner slowly while talking to him and just as I was almost close enough to get him he flew off. He was not clipped yet because he has been slow in developing due to the bad Kaytee formula and that included learning to fly.

I can't stop crying.

I'm so so sorry. You should post fliers around your neighbourhood, maybe go door to door asking if people have seen him, inform the local humane society/shelters as well as the police that you've lost him.
I really hope he comes home safe!

Oh! How scary! I really hope you find him! Aristotle got out last month, but I got him back in 15 -20 minutes (the longest 15 -20 minutes of my life!). If he responds to flock calls, then get youtube on your phone if you can and play contact calls as loud as possible! Aristotle has a favorite song and is a confident flyer, so he came right down to dance on my shoulder. I pray you have a happy ending as well. Also post to craislist and parrot alert. Get flyers or at least a pic with your info on it to all vets in the area, pet stores as well. Best of luck!

Oh I'm so sorry for you.
Keep up hope, keep looking for him.
I agree with everyone else put flyers up.
Also mention he needs a strict diet and medical attention.
It discourages anyone from keeping him due to vet bills.

Send a message via Skype™ to Big_bird
Call any animal shelters/vets in your area, so everyone knows hes missing, just it case someone finds him, and brings him in. Also, try pet stores, and leave fliers with them. I got my Cockatiel Kahlua back because I gave a poster to a store, and a women came in to get food for the bird she found (kahlua)

A bird doesn't sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song.

Don't forget to call all local pet shops as well and ask them to put a notice in the window.

Is he microchipped yet?

I am so sorry, I hope you find him soon.

I know the feeling, Oliver my Scarlet Chested Parakeet flew out the door and it was the saddest thing.

No news. I've been posting on every lost & found website I can find. I paid $60 to Pet Amber Alert for them to create a poster and fax it to 50 business in my area. I contacted both humane societies in my area, the bird store down the street, and the only bird only avian vet in the area......

Walking the area, talking with neighbors, will put up fliers......

I feel so bad for you.
I hope you can get him back. Is there a local paper you can advertise in?
Here a grey went missing for 2 weeks and he flew 30 miles.
They got him back after an ad on local radio.
