Bird Fair!

Going to a bird fair tomorrow. Never been to one and hoping to find tons of cheap toys or toy ideas. Wish me luck.

Expect to bring home a bird! I went to my first bird fair with the same mentality and I came home with a bird!

Actually I was good. Lots of birds. One girl was selling a bunch of tiels for 15 dollars. She said they were young. There were some pretty WFs and she claimed to know the sexes but they weren't at all tame. And I've told myself I'm not buying a bird unless its hand tamed. Too much work to get it there once they past a certain age. It was tempting not gonna lie.

Then at another Booth there was a guy selling more tiels. He had a pretty WF pied male, he asked 50 for him. He claimed he was hand tamed but had to grab him to take him out. He claimed all the excitement going on was too much for the bird and wouldn't step up. May have or may not have, I wasn't willing to take the risk. Rodeo came from a real busy pet store where there was a lot of people and things going on and he had no problems listening when I went and got him.

But I got a bunch of toys and toy ideas. Here I'll post some pics. Oh and I got a breaders number for when I'm ready to buy a handfed pineapple conure.

I made the one with the wiffle ball and forage paper. And Rodeo loves pumpkin seeds, $4.00. Big bag of food, $6.50. Two cuddle bone clips, the ones I had before kept falling, $1.00. A tiny parrots happiness, priceless

Oh and to answer some questions, it was the Ohio Bird Fair, in Columbus. They are having another next month I heard. They actually didnt have as much there as I anticipated. I was wanting to looking at some handmade happy huts but there were none. They had aviator harnesses but they were asking way too much. And I wanted a clicker for clicker training and nobody had any of those. And nobody had any full spectrum bulbs. And I don't think too many people know exactly what those are, which is a shame. They think you can use just a reptile heat lamp which is not the same.

I got a couple of their names but I didn't see any vendors that looked like that. I had the kids with me and said stop touching that or don't that more than anything. Didn't talk a whole lot. Do more of that next time. And next time I'll take my wife and leave the kids with grandma. We'll be able to explore more together. She had a baby shower to go to. So I thought the bird fair would be a good thing for both the kids and me. But they didn't care as much. It was too much shopping for them.

That and they had the fair inside an indoor water park/hotel, so the kids were more concerned with trying to talk me into going swimming...err
