Stupid people and their stupid fireworks!!

I can't even take my birds out of their cages tonight due to all the illeagal fireworks going off around our neighbourhood! I had my GCC out and a big one went off near our house and scared him off my shoulder.. I had to put him back in his cage... I expect them going off on the fourth , but good lord... it has been happening for 2 weeks now every night and will happen for 2 weeks after the fourth.. at least I am very careful about all doors being closed and my bird is clipped, so he is ok,.. he just hovered around the floor for a minute before we picked him up and put him away.

Poor bird. I saw an article on The Bird Channel about Firework safety for bird owners, you should check it out.

I'm lucky because there was only one night of Fireworks here for Canada Day! Not a huge day for Fireworks which I was glad of.

Think of all the poor birds that would be having night frights too.

guess I'm lucky, my birds and dogs don't bat an eyelash at them.

Because the UK is sooooo diverse wherever I seem to go on whatever night people let fireworks off. It's not fair, why not save them for events?! I hope your birds are okay

Thanks everyone , yeah the birds are fine , I was just ticked off. The birds don't mind the noise if they are in their cage, but they can't stay caged for a month!!

Totally agree! At least they're not outside. Chalkie jumps all over the place so I have to sit with him

If they're illegal, file a complaint? My birds usually don't care but they're on edge because of a small earthquake we had a few days ago so I'm not sure how they'll do. I'm hoping, since we live in an apartment complex, there won't be much nearby. I just would like to be able to sleep tonight!

There illegal, but this time of year the cops ignore fireworks complaints... There are so many of them , that as long as there is no injuries or fires they don't answer them.

My birds couldn't care less about fireworks. They just kinda go along with it.
