New babies

Pixie, my baby blue pied Parrotlet, is arriving tomorrow afternoon. I work until 9pm so my daughter is going to pick her up for me. I wont get to see her until almost 10pm.

Then next Wednesday I'll be making the 3 hr round trip to my friends place (Xandir's breeder) to pick up a baby turquoise yellowsided (?) Green Cheek Conure. S/he is not yet DNA'd but if it's a girl I want to name her Lucy.

Congratulations! Turquoise yellow sideds are the prettiest IMO, but I'm a little bit bias. I wanna know when their beaks turn completely black, so can you ask the breeder for me please ? I don't think Dexter will have her black until she is 2 years... I dunno! Pictures though

Yellow sided are one of my favorites but I've not seen a turquoise yellow sided. Right now the plan is to pick him/her up on Wednesday. I'll try to remember to ask about the beak but I'm not sure if she will know.

Pixie arrived safe and sound but is very nervous right now so pics will need to wait.

Thank you Daisy. She sure is beautiful.

The plan right now is that I will pick up the baby on Wednesday. Tina said s/he is just a doll. Loves to play on his/her back, loves toys... I can't wait!

Daisy,

First, my breeder friend did not know when the beak will turn black, how do you know it will?

Second, my 28 yr old daughter, Dara, has fallen in love with her(?) and wanted her. So she is now living with Dara and she named her Connie. I sent her the pic you posted for me in this thread but would love to send her others. She really wants to know what Connie will look like once fully mature/colored. :O)

I can pop up a couple more soon if you like, I'll take some pictures over the weekend for you!

The beaks of TYSGCC always turn black but they take some time. Dexter is nearly a year old and her bottom mandible is getting there but the top is only a little bit dark. There's somebody on youtube with a really cute one (and a pearly conure) and if you look at older videos the bird has a pale beak but now it's completely jet black. I'll find a link for their videos. Honestly they're adorable!!

When I google pics so many come up that I just don't know what I'm looking at. She named the bird Connie and is so in love with her. We don't know for sure she's a girl but think she is. We just wanted to see what she will look like once fully mature. Are the flight feathers blue? My daughter plans on letting her flights grow out but they're clipped right now.

One pic I took a day or 2 after I got her, the other my daughter sent this morning, taken with her cell phone.
