so who is really the trained one?

so just now in my room i was doing a small in the cage session with the fids. lenny gets on the perch and gets off. butch gets one foot on the perch get off while not missing a beat with his eye pinning. after a while i test something with butch. i switch my the perch with my finger. of course butch is so into his eye pinning that he still put is foot on my finger! ;D he does it several times and i try tempting lenny to do it with a huge chunk of millet he really wants to but is unsure. i do it with butch again several times as lenny watched, he was still unsure. i think deep down butch is not afraid of me. i think he is afraid of being grabbed (past home life maybe??) it was so nice to have that soft, warm little foot holding onto my finger. when you have been with out that contact between human and bird (and with out a close bond to a bird) for so long, there is a hole in your heart that appears. butch filled a little of that hole today
goodness.. my eyes are getting watery
