I have a confession to make....

OK, so after Cuppie I said I was done getting birds. Well I was babysitting a friends senegals and helping her get them out to Ohio. We finally get out there and she offers me a parakeet for watching them. Im about to say no but then my daughter spies it and it "Oh mommy! I love it" so we are now proud owners of a parakeet. She names it Clover and it settles into her room.

Clover is a little sweetie. The only problem is she is lonely without any birds. We take her in the room with the other birds and she flies over to the parrotlets and she immediately gets her toe bit to the point where there is no nail. We try to get the tiels to show her some attention and they ignore her. She'd follow them around and make these sad little noises.... What to do....

SOOOO.... yesterday I went to Burtons to get pet supplies. There are 6 little parakeets in this tank like thing. My daughter starts fussing and I tell her to talk to her dad (hes good at saying no). The next thing I know shes running over telling me that Heath told her to get another keet. Groan. So she gets this little yellow shaking thing that looks terrified.

We get home and Mel runs Charms (the new baby) upstairs. She hops out of the box onto Mels finger (I was impressed). Then Clover spies her. The sounds of happiness coming from that bird was so cute!!! Clover preened the heck out of Charms and last night was feeding her. I think its love and I really need to learn to put my foot down!!!

So I know ya'll love them... here are some pics.

Desi. Is actually hers too. He was a Christmas gift from my sister. I think parakeets. Are great birds for kids. They do great with all mine.

Those are super cute, and your daughter seems to love birdies! Guess it runs in the family!

In the future though, it is really a good idea to practice proper quarantine procedures to keep your other birdies from getting any sickness new birds might bring into your home. better to be safe.

My others always have done that. I was worried about Clovers mental health at that point. She was already in quarantine in my daughters room before the other bird came home.

what cuties, I love the little babies when they are still getting used to you.

So cute!!! Makes me want to get one (or two). I am usually pretty good when I am tempted in a pet store...I remind myself it would be yet another cage to clean... and most of the time that works
