I like this one... It's a little more $$$ but there is lots of toy hanging room!

Java branches are very slippery for parrots to grip on to so you'd want something with branches going horizontal across. If the branches are slanted they're very diffucult for the bird to grip on to. This one is a example what you should look for, pic underneath.

Currently in my room with Bandit the American kestrel in, he has a nice rubber falconry perch, a concrete perch disenfected before use obviously, a rope perch and a java branch. Not kidding when I say he actually hates his java branch! He can't even remotely hang on to it. Most of my birds hate them, if I am correct people often sand them down a bit right?

haha, I have been trying to tell people before that birds don't like java branches because of the slippery surface but no one believes me. I have seen people wrapped sisal string round the branches for the birds to have better grips on to it. I personally would stay away from java branches, none of my fids like it.

What wood do you use? I wouldn't know what tree was what, so I wouldn't have a single clue what was safe no matter how many lists people gave me

I haven't got a clue what wood is safe either. It is better safe than sorry so I buy this type of perches from http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/birds/...essories/14421 They still got the bark on them so the fids can have good grips on them. I bolted a few outside their cages, the fids love them. They're only 2.49 each.

The Sandblasted Grape Wood play stand you shown before I don't think it's slippery because it has been sandblasted, but I don't like the shape of it- too many hanging down branches.

also it looks like all the tree stands at MySAFEBird are all sold out but one. She gets them in quite regularly. I was going to get one at one time but ruled against it because of it being to slippery. I saw a couple locally and was not at all impressed.
