butch's first new trick...kind of :p

well i took lenny out again today to sit on a perch on butchs cage so they can hang out. and while lenny is with butch i work with him with his tricks so maybe butch will learn. and butch did learn today!!! i had lenny sing on command for some millet, and of course he does his quiet little tweet. then butch kind of caught on and when i said lenny sing, lenny would sing a quiet note and butch would scream he is so cute i think butch really can learn a lot from lenny. and today was one of those days i just stared at them and said to lenny and butch that i couldnt have adopted any better birds than them.. one of those 'feel good' moments with them

That's great! Congrats I think that's the best way animals learn when I was babysitting my friends pup for 4 weeks I would train her through my dog because my dog is well behaved and it worked I taught it to come here and the pup is just so hyper would never listen....until I got my dog to come and praising her then the other dog had to be apart of it.

It is wonderful that you have so many of these moments with your babies, keep up the good work with them. May I ask what your goal is for them? Like, where do you want to be with them? Do you want them to sit on you and hang out or? I dunno! I can't remember you saying or not

my goal is to have them be trained and bonded to me, like pumble was. my other goal is eventually to be able to have them sit on my shoulders, like pumble did. pretty much i want that close bond with a bird again. i would be happiest it both birds could be bonded to me and trained but it wont break my heart if butch is just trained and not bonded (due to his trust issues), as long as lenny is both i would not care. my overall goal is to be able to take them BOTH out every day to hang out. i want to plan out my room (though it will be hard with so many fish tanks) so i can put a small tree with many branches (and toys!) for their official hang out area i just want to come home from school go straight to their cage (which i will combine the 2 to make a cage that is very big, i measured it.) and take them out. even if i dont have room for a big cage, i can still take them both out, and they can have some sleep overs! there is a lot of work to be done
