Fid sitting for a male grey

A friend of mine at work has a male grey that is 2 and a half years old , my friend is from India and she has to go home in 3 weeks all I know is it's family business and she will be gone a month she asked me to keep her grey until she comes home , she will pay me , I guess I will be babysitting or fidsitting I told her I will think about it and let her know , not sure if it's a good idea not that I would mind watching him and he is fully flighted , it's just this bird doesn't know any of my birds and I would really have to keep my eyes glued to Rocky , he hates all birds except Opey and I don't know how he would react to a new bird in the house , and now I'am trying to figure out where to put the bird , space is definitly limited around here with 4 birds we have a full house , I do have a spot in mind but I would have to move some cages around , and I wonder how he would get along with Brandi , so many things to think about before I say yes, in the mean time she is going to see if she can board him at the vets close to her , she doesn't want to board him at the bird store , to many birds going in and out and she is scared he will catch something fatal , he is her only bird and the love of her life she adores him

sooo what do everyone think about this , should I say yes or no?

It's a tough one for sure.

Is there any way you can have a test day?bring him home for a day and see how it goes?

That way you can get an idea of how things will pan out.

I was going to suggest that too, do a test run and see how he gets along with the rest of your flock. If it is a problem I'm sure she wouldn't mind you housing him in a separate room?

test run sounds like a good idea , putting him in a sperate room would not do any good becuase he is fully flighted and he is used to flying around the house , so he can fly to any room I will wait until she mentions it again , she will let me know if she can't find a good place to board him , it's nice to know she trusts me with her bird and she knows he will get great care I have met him before the bird that is, he seemed to be friendly and easy going but that was at her house and his name is Jake , you know whats weird he has the same handicap Cody had , his foot turns in but nothing stops him from getting around , he climbs like a monkey lol

I hope it works out for you to do it. Having a full house of activity will keep him distracted. I just left my grey for 5 days. My dad, who she knows well, house sat. Opal was polite, but very reserved. She missed me noticeably. Can't imagine your friend having to leave her guy for a month. It's a HUGE responsibility for sure.

my friend called me tonight she has found 1 person that would keep Jake for her but the lady has small birds and no experience with any bird larger then a cockatiel and she said the lady was kinda leary of keeping a bird larger then her teils soooo she is bringing Jake over saturday for a few hours to see how he reacts to me and hubby and my fids , I'am sure he will be ok with me because he has met me a few times but not sure how he will react to everyone else , the only thing that worries me is that he is fully flighted and I will really have to watch where he lands and I wonder if he will get along with Brandi , I will let everyone know how it goes later on saturday
