Is there any bird you yearning for at the moment?

I was thinking about getting another quaker but then I changed my mind because of the thought I may lose the bond with my now quaker, so now I have decided not to get another quaker. Lately I have been yearning for a male eclectus parrot, I know I can't have one any sooner but can't help the wistful thinking of getting one. I want a eclectus because they're not loud, good talker, they seem like confident birds, a nice size bird for me.

Is there a bird you yearning for?

A male Alexandrine parakeet currently. I want one so so so bad! I have a huge list, but I definitely think it's one I will be getting in the near (ish) future ONCE everything is finished. I won't get it yet though. I may get a male and a female, not hand raised or anything but I won't attempt to breed them unless they want to. I just don't want him lonely. I MUST get a hand raised one some day though

- Alexandrine parakeets Holly, George, Koda & - Crimson rosella Kasumi Orange winged Amazon parrot Paulie

The bird that I'm really wanting right now? A hand-tame Budgie, lol. Yes I want my African Grey but not until my son is in school at least (so 4 years away).
I just love Budgies and I miss mine!

I was thinking about getting a bigger bird but I read threads and think thats why I don't lol. Then I think they cost feed and I got enough mouths to feed and then its gone.

Well, to be perfectly honest I'm not really yearning for anything in particular but then again we just got our dream bird a little over a week ago and I already have my cockatiels which I could never do without I'm pretty happy right now lol

I think I was really taken by quakers as I was hoping for something bigger than a tiel that would be good in a family set up and hopefully talk but since our Galah talks then I have no great desire to get something just because it's a good speaker

I think some of the amazons are beautiful but they are a bit spunky I like a few of the conures too but again noisy and sassy

I'll either end up with a rescue or end up with a pionus I think if we do in fact get anything else. We went on the breeders list for a blue headed pi (ooooh which we're still on don't ya know LOL! ) before we had any clue we'd get our Galah.

Some of the gang:

Hobby Breeding: lineolated parakeets

well I wish I could have another linnie, but sadly I can't. I would also love to have a GCC one day, they are wonderful birds. I saw a turquoise green-cheeked conure at that bird store the other day and they are so cute!

At this moment I don't and I would refrain from ever getting another I think one birdie is enough he has so much personality lol plus he's a jealous birdie he'd be super angry if I ever brought home another bird he's not into sharing my attention lol I must solely focus it all on him If I could though and that it wouldn't break our bond I'd totally get a cinnamon gcc I've always wanted one before I decided to get a Quaker I was set on a cinnamon o well I'm happy with my choice

If I have a quaker like your Phoenix I wouldn't want anything else either. My quaker is not very talkative like your Phoenix, Mr.Quaker just screams alot but never talk or say anything in front of me, I still love him dearly though, there are still other funny sides to Mr.Quaker even if he doesn't talk or sing

I like CAG but their dust put me off, my nasal is too sensitive to bird dust.

A caique is very funny to watch, but I can never handle their hyperactivity, lol, I do love the way caiques bounce about when they're happy, they're so funny! I even think green cheeks are too hyperactive for me, I like a bird that moves like a sloth

A Caique is a bird that I'm debating between over a TAG. Whenever I see a Caique at the pet store they are so funny and adorable, lol.

Ya Phoenix is like 10 birds in one he has enough energy to light up the city block lol he's always the life of any party and every birthday party is his because when he sings he inserts his own name he's always on the go lol do birds calm down as they get older like dogs? My dog is 10 and so calm nothing bothers her, do birds calm down with age?

i would like a female lilac crowned amazon in the far future just a single bird, preferably cage free by day in her own room. not a baby, but a few years old may be loud, but by the time i am ready for another bird, i will likely have a house and the funds. i dont plan on another bird for another 15-25 years

You don't want him to calm down, that's the whole point about having a quaker in the first place

Well start looking now because I have never seen any Lilac crown up for adoption and I look on bird selling sites everyday , it will probably take you 15 to 25 years to find one.
